Her Gilded Revenge For Stolen Fate novel Chapter 75

Chapter 75

Even though Stephan was seething with anger, he managed to keep his composure and didn’t dare to insult the royal family the way Matthew did.

He shot a glance at the delicate, vulnerable Celia and gritted his teeth. Don’t worry. I’ll personally apologize to the crown prince. I swear I won’t let Aurea Manor get caught up in this.

Vivian watched Stephan. Just like in her previous life, he always had Celia’s back. But now, with that barely contained anger and pentup frustration, he was nothing like the easygoing, untroubled guy he’d been before.

He didn’t look anything like the revered scholar people looked up to. Instead, he reminded her of herself in her previous life, cornered and fighting just to keep her head above water, all messy and worn out.

Thank you, Mr. Landon,Vivian said with a smile. She gave a polite bow, took the wooden box Judith handed her, and opened it right in front of everyone.

Inside was the Emerald Cloud Petal that had fallen from the branch just yesterday. The veins on the back of Celia’s hand stood out. She was clearly tense.

Sylvia gritted her teeth. I’d clearly told the maid to get rid of it, so how did the calyx from that plant end up in Vivian’s hands? Was Vivian plotting against me and Celia from the very start? She’s way too cunning,Sylvia thought.

Vivian didn’t even need to look at Sylvia to know exactly what Sylvia was thinking.

Vivian curled her lips into a smile and said, Grandma, after the Emerald Orchid dropped yesterday, something just didn’t sit right with me. So I went and picked up the calyx myself.

See for yourself. The edges of the petals have these fine slits. That’s the kind of mark you get when it’s been strung up and dangled.

Beatrice took the Emerald Orchid and examined it closely, a dull ache throbbing at her temples.

After all these years, Beatrice had seen every kind of dirty trick. She knew the whole thing about the socalled evil aura hitting the Emerald Orchid was just a scheme someone had set up to trap Vivian.

Their goal was to make her scold Vivian. Their malice was plain for all to see.

Beatrice closed her eyes, remembering young Celia crying as she cut her wrist to draw blood for Flora’s medicine.

She was so small back then, with blood seeping through the bandage wrapped around her wrist, her tiny hands trembling as she tried to hold up the porcelain bowl.

Beatrice’s heart finally softened, and she gently advised, Vivian, your mother has had a hard life too. Don’t trouble her any more than necessary. The implication was to ask Vivian to be lenient and not to pursue it any further.

Hearing this, Sylvia and Celia couldn’t hide their excitement. They both grinned from ear to ear.

Beatrice was still backing them up. She wasn’t about to let Vivian, the side daughter, make a scene. If she had, Aurea Manor’s hundredyear reputation would’ve gone down the drain.

Unlike their hope, Flora’s eyes showed guilt. She couldn’t understand why Celia kept targeting Vivian, causing endless conflict between them.

Vivian had always looked up to Beatrice, but she wasn’t one to compromise her own values. She wasn’t going to just let things slide and went back down without a fight. Grandma, this is the second time it’s happened, she said.

Beatrice pressed her lips together and gripped Vivian’s hand tightly. Her voice was rough but gentle as she said, Good girl,

I’m not so muddled yet. I know that patience only goes so far.

Vivian sighed, putting the Emerald Cloud Petal back into the wooden box and sealing it shut. Beatrice waved her hand, telling everyone to leave. That’s enough. Everyone, go on now.

Vivian got up to leave, and the moment she stepped out, Sylvia called after her.

Vivian, you’re still a lady of the Snyder family. Even if you saved Edward, you shouldn’t go around cashing in on that favor,Sylvia said.

Vivian looked up and locked eyes with Sylvia. Mom, I’m not trying to cash in on anything,” Vivian replied.

Sylvia scoffed. “Cut it out. If you weren’t playing the gratitude card, with how cold and ruthless the crown prince is, do you really think he’d just hand over the Crystal Orchid to you?

Even though Sylvia rarely left the manor, she’d heard all the stories about Enoch.

He’d been raised by wolves as a child, born with a thirst for blood. On the battlefield, he’d earned legendary victories, his hands stained with the blood of countless invaders.

He was both Veronia’s war god and a harbinger of doom. If it weren’t for his close ties to the Fletcher family, people would swear he was nothing but a wild animal with no feelings.

Vivian just happened to hit the jackpot. She figured out Enoch’s soft spot, saved Edward at the Imperial Menagerie, and earned the crown prince’s rare favor. Thanks to her, Celia ended up losing face in front of everyone.

Sylvia was green with envy and jealousy, totally baffled as to why the heavens kept smiling on Vivian.

Wasn’t all her Fortune supposed to have transferred to Celia ages ago? So why does it feel like Vivian’s luck is rising from the ashes all of a sudden?Sylvia wondered.

If you insist on thinking that way, Mom, I can’t change your mind,Vivian said. With that, she walked off without another word, making her way straight to Maple Yard.

Meanwhile, Sylvia and Celia escorted Stephan to his guest room before heading back together to Wisteria Attic. Celia kicked out the servants, locked up the room tight, and was shaking all over like she’d been dropped in ice water.

Sylvia, Vivian is just ruthless. She set me up in front of everyone, made me treat the Crystal Orchid, and then showed off that Emerald Cloud Petal to Grandma,Celia sobbed..

Her eyes were swollen and red as she struggled to get the words out. Grandma’s way too sharp. There’s no way we could ever fool her. She knows I was the one who tampered with it; she just hasn’t exposed me yet.”

She felt so cold, she couldn’t help but wrap her arms around herself. Sylvia pulled Celia into her arms, gently patting her back as she tried to comfort her.

Lady Celia, Beatrice is still on your side. If she wasn’t, she wouldn’t have stopped Vivian from digging any deeper,” Sylvia said softly.

Celia shook her head, her mind a tangled mess. She instinctively avoided meeting Beatrice’s disappointed gaze.

What’s done is done. Instead of wasting time beating myself up, let’s try a different approach and lean on Mr. Landon. He’s our best support right now,Celia said.

Sylvia frowned, confused, Another way? What do you mean?

Mr. Landon came to the capital for two things. One is to help Matthew come back to Aurea Manor with his head held high, and the other is to find the missing Veronia Grand Map.
