Chapter 295 Two Slaps
Chapter 295 Two Slaps
She’d be jealous too, right?
After all, Julia once said he was the most important person in her life, and no one could ever replace him.
It wasn’t like he was cheating.

Everyone had someone irreplaceable in their heart. That was normal. He just wanted to know he existed in Julia’s heart, too.
Being the most important-that’s all he wanted.
Gilbert’s hopeful eyes searched the darkness, anticipation building.
But in the dark, his confused gaze couldn’t find Julia anywhere.
She’d been right in front of him. Where did she go?
Then he heard it-Julia’s scream, cutting through the air like a knife.
The woman he’d been thinking about? She completely ignored Kurt, who was still trying to hold onto her. She launched herself at Lucas’ broad back, pressing her soft curves against him.
‘Whoa, packing weapons-grade ammunition!” Juan rubbed her eyes, making sure she wasn’t seeing things.
Gotta give her credit. She had the goods.
Sherry’s face went hard. Her expression hit rock bottom.
She never expected Julia’s seduction to be this blatant. No pride, no shame-she’d thought the woman was supposed to be classy.
But she had to admit-this tactic worked on men.
Only the man himself knew whether he’d seen through it or not.
Everyone knew the Grangers were sharp operators.
Even Kurt couldn’t resist Julia-especially not when she was turning on all her charm.
But Lucas? It was like he had eyes in the back of his head.
He sidestepped left, pulling Tony with him.
Tony was completely confused.
For one wild second, he wondered if his iron-clad straight boss was about to have a moment-
Then something slammed into his back, and arms wrapped around his waist. Something soft pressed against him, rubbing vigorously.
Tony realized what it was immediately-something he didn’t have.
This bitch was mocking him.

“You bitch!”
Tony spun and slapped her.
Then he stormed off, fury in every step, no more pretense of being scared.
Lucas followed right behind him.
Julia stood there, hand on her stinging cheek. She didn’t even get what she came for.
Gilbert’s heart twisted. Part of him was disappointed-when Julia got scared, she hadn’t thought of him first.
But the pain in his chest drowned out the disappointment.
He and Kurt both moved toward her.
Then Sherry and Juan walked up. Sherry’s voice was pure sugar. “Tony didn’t mean it, you know. But if you’re going to flaunt your goods and smash them into someone who doesn’t have any… well, getting hit is kind of expected.”
She was mimicking Gilbert’s old tone perfectly.
Gilbert’s face went green. Julia’s every hair was precious. And some man had slapped her. “How dare you say that so casually? Julia got hit! What’s wrong with you? And stop imitating me!”
‘Your hearing’s not bad. You caught that, huh?” Sherry’s laugh was cold. “Haunted house? This isn’t our first time. Remember when Wendy dragged me here and suddenly slapped me? You said the exact same thing.”
‘That was different! Wendy was scared! She mistook you for a ghost!” Gilbert’s righteous indignation was impressive.
The next second, Sherry’s palm connected with his cheek.
‘Oops. I saw a ghost too. One that speaks nothing but lies.”
Gilbert’s face cycled through shades of rage. “You hit me?”
He never imagined he’d once been slapped by a woman.
That woman had tried to seduce him, and he’d shut her down with words. He never thought of his mouth as cruel.
Back then, Sherry hadn’t felt it either, so she had no idea how ruthless his tongue could be.
