Leonardo slammed on the brakes, bringing the car to a sudden stop on the mountain road.
Yvette was terrified, screaming in panic, "Leo, don't stop on the road! It's so dangerous here. If a car comes and doesn't notice us, we could easily go off the cliff."
Leonardo sneered. "So you're also aware it's dangerous? But when you were so eager to speak earlier, why didn't you think about how dangerous I am?"
Yvette felt a chill from Leonardo's smile, and she swallowed nervously. "I'm sorry. I just spoke without thinking. I don't want you to be fooled by that kind of woman. Women like her are just for fun. How dare she even ask you to help her? What is she, really? I was just trying to stand up for you."
"I'll handle my business myself."
"Leo, you've misunderstood me—"
Before she could explain further, Leonardo cut her off icily. "Get out."
"What?"
Yvette couldn't believe it. She turned back to look out the window. The road was brightly lit, but it was still a mountain road.
"Leo, this is a mountain road. How can you just leave me here alone?"
"Aren't you superior to everyone else? With your elevated social status, who would even dare lay a finger on you?"
"Leo, stop joking around. I'm really scared."
Leonardo's eyes were cold with a chilling intensity. "I'm not joking."
Yvette's hand gripped the car door tightly as she struggled to speak. "Mrs. Garrett asked you to take me back. If you leave me on the road, you won't be able to explain it to her, right?"
Yvette answered the call, her tone sharp and irritated. "What is it? Do you think I have nothing better to do? Don't you have a manager? Why do you keep bothering me?"
Liliana's voice sounded apologetic. "Yvette, I'm really sorry, but you're the only one who can help me this time. Remember how I asked you to contact Mr. Garrett a few times before? He never agreed to help me get Dr. Reed.
"But now my grandmother's condition is urgent, and I have no choice but to call you. Could you please ask Mr. Garrett to speak to Dr. Reed for me?"
The situation sounded eerily similar to what was happening with Samantha. In fact, it was almost identical.
Yvette suddenly asked, "Do you know Samantha?"
Liliana sneered, her tone dripping with disdain. "Samantha is the bitch who stole my place as Ms. Newton when we were kids. That shameless thief!"
"Oh? Is that so?"
