Her Tears Are His Weakness novel Chapter 128

The maid clearly looked uneasy as she spoke. She quickly set the clothes down and left the room.

Samantha already had a plan. She took off the gown and changed into the uniform.

The fabric was decent, and the cutting wasn't bad either. The uniform's only flaw was that when worn the usual way, it came off as stiff and boring, with no distinct appeal.

She wasn't one of the Shaw family's maids anyway, so she could wear the outfit however she pleased. She left the jacket open and unbuttoned the top two buttons of the inner shirt. Then, she adjusted the collar and hem with a few intentional tweaks.

Then, she tugged the skirt up slightly to just above her knees, revealing her long, slender legs.

She had a small clutch with her, and inside it was a longer strap. With the strap, she turned the clutch into a sling bag. By the time she was done, she looked every bit a fresh-faced, pretty college student—which she actually was, to begin with.

Samantha had just changed and was heading toward the main hall when she ran into the heiresses the maids had taken upstairs earlier.

Their makeup had been carefully redone, with heavy foundation concealing the bruises. They were now dressed in gowns even more glamorous than before. They were likely from Yvette's collection—a gesture from the Shaws to smooth things over.

After all, Yvette had more clothes than she could ever wear. She probably wouldn't mind missing a few pieces.

The women were in high spirits, chatting away like nothing had happened. It was as if they had forgotten about the beating Samantha had given them earlier.

That was until they saw her.

They stopped talking immediately. All of them shot Samantha dirty looks, but none of them dared to say a word. The silent standoff continued as they walked toward the main wall.

As they neared a turn, Samantha heard Rosemary's voice and paused for a moment. The other women followed suit.

At that moment, Rosemary was lecturing Ryan in a quiet corner. "I don't care what kind of women you fool around with outside, but don't bring someone so lowly into our home. You brought someone like her into the house and allowed things to blow up like this. Aren't you embarrassed?"

Samantha took a deep breath and followed. She was honestly exhausted from dealing with all this, but she forced herself to maintain her composure and energy. She wanted to at least not lose in a way that made her look pathetic.

Samantha stepped into the hall, and all eyes turned her way.

Her outfit clearly didn't match the ones the five women wore, but ironically, she was the one who stood out. She appeared the most youthful and radiant, while the others looked dull in their gowns in comparison.

"Sure enough, beautiful people look good in anything they wear," one onlooker remarked.

"She's undeniably pretty, and she's got a great figure to boot," another said enviously.

Yvette happened to walk in just then. She was surprised to see Samantha and immediately asked, "Why are you wearing one of our staff uniforms?"
