Samantha was also puzzled. Why would Daniel bring her breakfast for no reason?
But with Freddie standing before her, she chose to tell the truth.
She shook her head and said, "No, we're not related."
Freddie was still confused, but he didn't ask further. He simply said, "You can take your time eating. When you're done, go back to class through the back door."
"Okay."
Samantha watched him return to the classroom and awkwardly stood in the hallway.
It was quiet, as classes were in session. Most students were inside the classrooms or lecture halls, and those who didn't have any classes were probably still in bed. She was the only one standing there, holding breakfast. The special treatment caught her off guard.
She found a corner and sat on the stairs. After all, no one in the academy cared about getting dirty.
Opening the bag, she found an egg sandwich, a carton of milk, and an egg sausage. She ate quickly, then sneaked back into the classroom to return to her seat.
Her classmate beside her leaned over and asked, "Why did Professor Bryne call you out earlier?"
"Yeah. What happened?" another asked. "Was it something good?"
They were hungry for gossip.
Samantha shook her head. "It's nothing."
Her classmates were still curious, but they couldn't pry any further since she wouldn't say anything.
She checked her phone. In her hurry to follow Freddie out, she had left it behind. A few new messages had come in. One of them was from Leonardo.
"Have you finished your breakfast?"
Samantha wondered how he knew she had breakfast. Could it be that he asked Daniel to get it for her?
He was really something else.
As soon as she opened the door, she heard some sounds coming from inside.
She wondered if someone was there. Leonardo couldn't be home this early. Had a thief broken in?
Samantha considered whether she should call the police or contact Leonardo when a woman in cleaning attire suddenly appeared in her line of sight. She seemed to be in her 40s.
The woman spotted her at the same time. Seeing Samantha's surprised expression, she introduced herself. "Hello, I'm Monica Frye, the housekeeper Mr. Garrett hired. I come every day to clean."
"I'm… Leonardo Garrett's wife," Samantha replied.
"Nice to meet you, Mrs. Garrett," Monica said with a polite smile while casually sizing her up.
Samantha still had a very student-like air, with none of the arrogance of a wealthy heiress. She seemed gentle and easy to handle.
She was clearly just an ordinary person with no status or background—only that stunningly beautiful face made her stand out.
