Samantha couldn't help but roll her eyes in frustration. It felt as if Leonardo was implying that she was the foolish one. However, what truly bothered her was his complete disregard for Yara.
Instead, it was Samantha who remained deeply troubled by the situation. She'd even planned how to explain everything.
Even though she wasn't confident that she was more important to Leonardo than Yara, she still wanted a chance to defend herself. She wasn't willing to stay silent and accept blame.
Samantha: "Are you trying to ask about Yara? Her injury has nothing to do with me. I didn't do anything to her."
After sending the message, Samantha couldn't bring herself to look at her phone. She was terrified of seeing something she didn't want to see.
She was extremely nervous, and the surge of emotions made it hard for her to breathe. She felt so wronged.
After a long time, her phone buzzed. It took her a lot of courage to open the app.
Leonardo: "I know."
Upon reading it, Samantha's eyes immediately welled up with tears. She couldn't believe that Leonardo actually believed in her.
Leonardo: "I checked the surveillance footage."
So it was the surveillance that had cleared her name. Still, it didn't matter how it happened. At that moment, she felt much more relieved.
Leonardo: "In the future, if you run into my mom or Yara, try not to get into any conflicts with them. If anything comes up, wait for me to come back and handle it."
Samantha: "Got it."
Leonardo must be really busy and didn't want to be bothered by issues involving them. But even though Samantha knew that, she couldn't help but feel a little wronged.
This situation wasn't her fault. She hadn't expected to run into Yara at that same restaurant. It had been a pure coincidence.
Before she could finish speaking, Samantha looked up and saw it wasn't Monica at the door. It was Laura and Yara, whose arms were in bandages.
Yara tilted her head back arrogantly. Laura stood beside her, like a fierce protector ready for battle. Together, they looked like a formidable duo.
Yara was the first to speak. "Samantha, your good days are over!"
The moment Yara spoke, her gaze swept over Samantha's attire. She was wearing a simple black spaghetti strap top, exposing her delicate shoulders and collarbones. Below, a high-waisted skirt highlighted her slim waist, and her long legs were straight and graceful.
It was the simplest combination, yet it looked incredibly alluring, making Yara unable to suppress her jealousy. Without hesitation, she turned to Laura and began accusing her.
"Aunt Laura, look at how she dresses every day! She probably spends all her time at home posing and flirting to seduce Leo. No wonder he's so infatuated with her. She's so shameless! If others found out what Leo's been involved in, they'd laugh their heads off. She's not fit for him at all!"
Laura was enraged and shouted, "Pack your things and get out now! You've got ten minutes. I'll have someone watch you, so don't think you can sneak out with anything valuable!"
