Leonardo watched Samantha walk away with a haughty air, unable to suppress a smile. She had stormed off because of him.
"Do you want me to drive you?" he asked.
"No," she replied curtly.
His smile deepened. She really had a stubborn streak.
When Samantha reached the lobby, Gary was already waiting for her.
"Mrs. Garrett, over here."
"It's fine, Gary. I'll just take a cab."
"Mrs. Garrett, if I don't make sure you return safely to campus, I'll lose my job. Can you please help me out?"
Samantha was speechless. He was threatening her with this kind of thing again.
However, taking a cab and using a private car were different experiences, so she obediently got into the car.
Once inside, her phone buzzed. It was a message from Leonardo.
He had sent a picture of the final-round lineup. Her name was clearly at the top.
So, she really was first? No wonder the call she received had such a long gap compared to Chione's.
…
Samantha only had two classes in the afternoon, and by a little after 3:00 pm, she was done.
As soon as class ended, the students quickly packed their belongings, discussing where to shop, where to hang out, or what to eat. The classroom was filled with chatter.
"Hmph! It's good that you know your place."
Samantha looked up with a sweet smile and answered, "I'm sorry. My foot got a little numb. I was just stretching it."
"You did that on purpose, didn't you?"
"Of course not. I simply didn't notice…"
She returned the same words to Chione, making her face turn red with anger.
Maria had finished packing and was getting ready to leave. Upon seeing that, Chione didn't want to waste any more time with Samantha and hurried toward her.
