He's an Alpha: She doesn't Care (Jennifer Francis) novel Chapter 25

She’s Beyond His Rule 25 Wynta is called to a meeting about an alleged assault that supposedly happened in her office. Expecting a small gathering, she is surprised to find many people present, including Jared, Edward, Carlotti, and Edward’s unit. Carlotti appears confident, expecting everyone to believe her version of events and for Wynta to face consequences. Wynta calmly explains that Carlotti had slapped her and used her wolf to injure her, but since Wynta has no wolf, she cannot heal like the others.

The meeting unfolds with Carlotti accusing Wynta of attacking her after an apology, but the security footage that could prove the incident is missing due to a system update. This leaves the situation as a contest of their words. Jared supports Wynta, questioning the plausibility of Carlotti’s injury claims, and Edward confirms Wynta’s wolf-less status. Wynta challenges Carlotti’s story and points out the inconsistencies, revealing that Carlotti’s motives might be personal jealousy or rivalry.

Edward and Jared back Wynta, dismissing Carlotti’s accusations and highlighting the absurdity of her claims. Wynta also confronts the underlying tensions involving pack dynamics, particularly how Jared’s refusal to bring her into the pack saved her from unwanted initiation. She uses humor and defiance to undermine Edward’s authority, showing her resilience in the face of pressure. Despite Carlotti’s attempts to manipulate the situation and Jared’s investigation, the group sides with Wynta. Carlotti’s efforts to discredit Wynta are dismissed as desperate and unconvincing.

Edward makes it clear he wants Wynta to stay, not leave, and Wynta herself asserts that if forced out, she would quit immediately. The chapter ends with Wynta standing firm, determined not to be driven away. Continue Regular Chapter Reading Below Wynta Just over an hour had passed when she was summoned to the boardroom on the 10th floor for the meeting Dwane had mentioned earlier. It was about the assault that supposedly took place in her office. As she made her way there, a knot of apprehension tightened in her chest. When she entered the room, her expectations were immediately challenged.

She had thought it would be just her, Dwane, and Carlotti, but the gathering was far larger. Seated around the polished table were Jared, Edward and his unit, alongside Carlotti, who was perched smugly next to Jared. Carlotti’s expression was one of triumph, as if she already believed the outcome was decided – that everyone in the room would side with her and that Wynta would face punishment or even dismissal. Wynta let out a slow breath as she took the seat assigned to her, right beside Edward. He frowned almost immediately and gestured toward her injured lip.

“What happened to your face?” he asked, concern flickering in his eyes. Her gaze shifted to Carlotti. “She slapped me, using her wolf after the hit. Since I don’t have a wolf, I can’t heal like you all do,” Wynta explained quietly. Carlotti rolled her eyes and scoffed. “Oh please, like you’re wolf-less. I can smell you’re a she-wolf from here.” Jared cut in smoothly, “I think Carlotti, you’re mistaken.” Edward nodded in agreement. “Very mistaken.

Wynta is indeed wolfen, but she’s without a wolf.” Wynta watched as Carlotti turned to study her, attempting to detect the truth through her wolf’s senses. Jared’s voice lowered, almost a murmur. “So you’re saying she assaulted you and actually injured you? I’m not seeing it. Does anyone here believe Wynta could have hurt Carlotti so badly that she was still holding her injury and wincing thirty minutes later? I saw it myself.” Wynta shook her head slowly, realizing just how far Carlotti was willing to go to see her fired. But why? She pondered.

Maybe Carlotti thought Wynta was interested in Jared – which was not true. Nor did she believe Edward’s son had any such feelings for her. Perhaps Carlotti saw her as a threat to some secret relationship that would soon be revealed in this very room. But the resounding answer from Jared’s question was no. “I don’t really care about that,” Wynta said dismissively, and then asked to hear the actual complaint in detail, directly from Carlotti herself.

Carlotti obliged, launching into a long-winded complaint about how wrong it was for Wynta to attack her, insisting she had only come to apologize for injuries sustained after Jared had ejected her from the car. Wynta listened quietly, nodding along as if agreeing with every word, all the while suppressing her frustration. Then the footage was played – or rather, what footage existed. There was nothing to show the incident itself because it had occurred during a system security update. Dwane explained this to the room, confirming that they had verified with security.

The video showed only Carlotti walking through marketing and into Wynta’s office, nothing more. So, it boiled down to her word against Carlotti’s – and that smug smile returned to the she-wolf’s face. Wynta shook her head, unfazed by the arrogance. She was determined to wipe that smile right off. “So, Carlotti, you came to apologize to me?” Wynta asked, sounding genuinely dismayed by the girl’s boldness. “And after you apologized, I just happened to throw all my things on the floor and end up with this split lip all by myself? That’s odd, don’t you think? Did I slap myself?

Why would I do that? What purpose would it serve? What about an apology would make me do such a thing?” she challenged. Carlotti’s voice was sharp. “You did it because you were angry at me – because Jared kicked you out of his car to come get me. I didn’t even know you were in that car with him. You were mad that he put a pack member before a rogue.” Ernesto, who had been silent until now, spoke up with a half-laugh. “Wait a minute. Everyone knew Jared was bringing Wynta. Edward didn’t keep it a secret.
