“It’s clear to all in this room Lotti, to most within the pack, that you don’t like rogues, and certainly not Wynta from what we all saw today on that footage. I don’t know what is between the two of you. But let’s pull it all together as to why I think you’re actually targeting Wynta Morgan. Which father I do believe is the actual case here.”

“Go on son,” his father nodded.

“Lotti, on the day of the Luna Ceremony, you left the pack and had a car accident. That’s why you called me, yes?” he asked her. “That accident was, I believe, very conveniently located. You ran off the road at the back entrance to the pack, right?”

“I told you I had to go into the city to pick up a gift, and the car hydroplaned as a mini flash flood raced across the road. It wasn’t on purpose, and I wasn’t tracking you or your movements. Why would I do that, and how would I?” She shook her head.

“We’ll get to the how you would, much later. As for the reason why, I’m guessing from all we heard today. it’s the very reason you stated to Wynta, our so–called secret relationship.” He shook his head, “Which is all in your head. I have never been interested in you, and after this…” he shook his head.

“Now as for you actually being in the city that day, if you had a late lunch with your family at what?” he looked to Ernesto.

“2pm, it started and concluded about 3pm.” he answered.

“So, she left after 3pm knowing it’s an hour to the city and an hour back on a good day without torrential rain. That’s not a risk anyone would take, not considering the punishment laid out for all if they were late, and you were already inside the pack. Weather like that is acceptable for a gift being picked up a day late.” Lotti shrugged it off. “You saw the gift I was carrying when you picked me up, Jared.” She frowned at him. I don’t see where this is going, it’s clear that I did make the trip to the city and back.”

“Mm, you will,” he nodded. “Everyone will, I am now curious about a few things around the timing of your so–called accident, because if you hydroplaned off the road because of flooding, how did you end up on the pack side of the road, your car should have washed towards drop off into the forest below on the other side.”

“I don’t know,” she shook her head. “Sheer luck I didn’t die that day I suppose.”

He nodded, he guessed it could be luck, but he doubted it. “Dwane also told me that when we arrived, you took your coat off and had an evening gown on already.” He looked right at her. “I find that very odd in itself. It rained up until around 5pm, so you left the pack in your evening gown in torrential rain, knowing it would get wet and ruin it?” he shook his head.

“I also haven’t heard you state what time you left the pack yet to go and get the gift from the city. With that

storm raging, and flash flooding happening everywhere, there were road closures and detours in place all over the city. I struggled to make it on time. Even going from the airport to picking up Wynta then coming here took nearly four and a half hours, for a normally one and a half hour trip. So if your family lunch finished at three, like Ernesto stated, how did you make it into the city and back in just what two and a quarter hours give or take a few minutes?”

I told you put Wynta out of my car, chose a pack member over a rogue status she–wolf, when that is not actually what happened. I know as well as everyone else in this room, Lotti doesn’t like rogues, she is rude and aggressive to them, thinks they are beneath her…” he sighed heavily.

“I put Wynta out of my car that day because I knew Lotti would rant and rave about the rogue smell, if Wynta was in that car. So, to avoid that happening, I put Wynta out in the cold on the pack road. But I have now also fully investigated that moment as well, and Dwane here found that Lotti left the pack in her car at 5pm, via that back road to the pack.”

He saw his father frown. “That’s a 30–minute trip in itself.”

“It is.” Jared nodded. “Now where did I pick you up from Lotti?” he turned and looked at her. “If you left at five to go into the city then you were never making back for the Luna Ceremony and that gift, you never went and picked it up that day. You staged that accident because I picked you up from that road with barely enough time to drive to th

“You are filled with lies, Lotti, and that one about us being in a secret relationship that was…” he shook his head. “Stupid to stay the least, I’m allowed to date, father actually encourages it openly, wants me to. There is no need for me or any of my brothers to hide a relationship. Father, I believe, after all I’ve investigated, Lotti is an actual threat to Wynta and could well be one of the reasons you could never bring her in.”

“What? I’m not a threat to her, I’ve never…” she cut herself off as she realized what she was about to say.

“Harmed her,” Jared commented. “I beg to differ after what we saw today. Father, a full wolfen investigation is needed into this matter.”

“What? There’s no need for that.” Lotti gasped, turning wide eyes upon him now.
