Jared
He walked with his father from the boardroom to the elevator, as they discussed Wynta Morgan, he was certain it wasn’t going to be easy. She might not be able to be brought in at all unless she did actually mate off to someone inside the pack itself. That might be the only way.
“I’ve not yet found out her history. She doesn’t speak about it, not to me and not to Chester, and he gets nothing on that topic. When he tries to sense her out, she doesn’t even think about it from what Chester can tell, none of us even know how long she’s been a rogue.” His father huffed “Her past doesn’t concern her greatly, and all Chester gets is amusement or curiosity, from her; about the things we do, to try and bring her in.
“Creed and I came to the conclusion it was when she was 18, seeing as it takes a good eight or nine years to get that full rogue mentality, where one actually no longer cares about pack life, nor wants to be a part of a pack.” Jared nodded. “That doesn’t just happen overnight, most rogues, especially females will actively want to be a part of a pack, until that social aspect of them is obliterated and that takes years.” He knew he’d come across a few himself over the course of his life and learned from experience, “She also called me Alpha blood, among other things.” He kind of muttered as they got out of the elevator and made their way to his father’s office.
His father chuckled, “Insulted you did she,” his father thought that was funny “She is not one for pack hierarchy, doesn’t acknowledge it, she calls myself and my unit by our first names, and I allow it, because I didn’t like that she always addressed me as Mr Hayes. That was her way of keeping full formalities and proper distance between herself and us.
“I didn’t want that. I needed to establish some kind of connection with her to even start making headway. It took a full year for even Chester to be on a first–name basis with her. She is very stubborn,” his father told him, though he smiled about it. “Kind of why I like her.”
“She calls me, Mr Hayes.” Jared nodded. “But then again, we didn’t exactly hit if off, kind of got off on the wrong foot right from the start.” He stated, “I did try to replace her dress. She refused it three times, also refused the cheque to cover the cost of it, and that kind of led to a stand–off in her office just this morning, before all this went down.” He shook his head and half smiled himself.
His amusement didn’t escape his father. “Why son?”
“She thought I was bluffing, when I sent Stacey down there to tell her it was either the dress or the cheque,
or me sitting in her office staring at her all day until she accepted one or the other. She didn’t think I would do it. So tried to call my bluff, only it wasn’t a bluff at all.” he chuckled. “I won that father. Just so you know, I sat myself in her office until she accepted, so it’s one all between us.”
“Hmm, I think you’ll find you’re scoring is off son. Let me lay it out for you, it was 0 to 1, in her favor when she walked away from the pack. 0 to 2 when she refused to come back to the pack hospital, so you had to

“Now where is that dress, Jared?” his father asked him. “In your office I’m betting, so son that is 0 to 3, all in her favor, she’s currently winning.”
“Well, looking at it like that it’s 1 to 2, I may have that dress, but she took the cheque for the full price of the dress.” He smiled as he leaned on his father’s office door. “That’s better than you’re doing.” He smirked at his father.
“Hmm, nope, still 0 to 3, until she actually cashes that cheque.” His father clapped him on the back. “She also likes to play the game Jared, enjoys it, and does find it very amusing as you saw today, she’ll be looking to play it with you as much as she does me.” his father smiled at him and walked over to his desk. Jared trailed him and sank down. “Spill it.” He stated there was more and he knew it.
“She’s actually quite a likable person, when you can get past that hardened rogue exterior and beyond all the defenses she has around her. I believe, son, she’ll present a good, hard, yet fun challenge for you.”
“Any words of advice?” he asked.
“Nope, other than play the game, it’s a good way to break the ice and see her smile. She’s quite pretty don’t you think?”
“Hmm, I did notice.” He nodded and leaned on his father’s desk and raised that right wrist of his. “I’m not taking a chosen, if it don’t glow, it’s a no.” He smiled right at his old man.
“Now, son, it could well have glowed on the last full moon if you’d done exactly as I’d asked you to, huh?” “Too late now.” Jared shrugged it off.
“No, it’s not, it’s up to you now to bring her in for a full moon. Hell, just be in scenting range of her on the next full moon and

She was just sitting in there at her desk working away when he walked into her office. After two short raps on her door, she looked up at him and huffed in what he could only think was annoyance at seeing him in her office once more today.
Jared chuckled softly. “Now that’s not usually the response I would get from a woman.”
“I’m not your type of woman,” she stated right back and turned her eyes back to her work. “What do I owe the pleasure of your company this time, Mr Hayes?”
Creed chortled inside his mind as the word pleasure shot an image into Jared’s mind that he shouldn’t have; his bloody father likely knew how she worded things even. He stepped into her office and closed the door as he shook the image off and walked over and sat down. “I’m here to let you know what punishment Carlotti is to receive.”
“It’s none of my business how you or your father handles his pack members, I’m just here to work and earn a living,” she answered.
“Regardless, father told me I had to come and see you, inform you of the punishment, so here I am to do that. Three lashes with the cat of three tails, and three days on the shaming post. She’s headed back to the pack in a silver cuff, right now to be put in the cells until father gets home to deal out the punishment.” “Alright.” Wynta shrugged it off.
“Do you not care at all about her being punished for her crime?” he asked and leaned forward onto her desk. She looked at him and leaned back into her chair; she didn’t like him in her personal space, he realized, and that was considered to be her desk.
“No, again, like I said, I’m just here to earn a living is all, so I can pay my rent and feed myself.”
He nodded and stared at her for a moment, as he thought about her words. “Surely you can afford a better place to live? I’ve seen your salary and your shoebox of an apartment.”
