Jared

He stared at his Gamma for his words, and the man was fully amused, but his eyes were elsewhere. Jared’s eyes flicked in the direction that Andy was looking, and he saw a fully amused Wynta in the elevator as the doors closed. He waited until it was on the move and asked, “What was that?”

t?” Emerson asked. “Grabbing my ass like that.”

you would.” Jared murmured.

Any bloody lower Andy, and you’d be touching things you shouldn’t.” Emerson muttered.

Andy laughed and draped his arm around Emerson’s shoulders and walked him off. “I’m just helping the big boss out, just play along, I give you permission to grope me back buddy, but only in Wynta’s presence.”

“What exactly does that mean?” Jared muttered as he walked along behind them with a slight shake of the head.

“That’s between me and your dad, plus Wynta now,” he shot over his shoulder.

Jared looked at his Beta, who shrugged it off as if to say ‘don’t look at me’, and they returned to their offices. He sat and thought about it as the papers on his desk waited for him to read and sign them. The words, and then the actions and then Andy’s winning, and he leaned back in his chair as he realized something else. Andy had walked into his office this morning and taken his jacket from the room and told him he needed it for a minute. His eyes moved to the coat rack; it was there hanging on a hanger now.

Andy had gotten Wynta to look at his ass. That was what it was all about. Something had gone on down in

her office, and it related to ass grabbing or maybe a toned ass of some sort, and Andy had made sure

there was no suit jacket on him, which meant his ass was there to look at. Though now Creed was

chortling inside his mind. ‘She liked our ass.

‘Our?’ Jared asked, ‘It’s my ass, I’m the one that works out and keeps it all toned and sculpted.’

‘Ha! wouldn’t even be half as toned. You couldn’t do all those leg presses, weighted squats without my

muscle. She like my ass, not yours.

Jared shook his head of habeast and returned to his work; but Creed was probably right. Jared let it go

His weekend had been frustratingly annoying when he’d found out He’d realized she’d left the area as well, because he’d not been

hers.

He knew because he’d tested it already a few days before, had stood on his apartment balcony and waited for her to leave the office, he had a good sense of smell being an Alpha wolf, and he’d had Emerson tell him when she’d left the office, and he’d stepped out and breathed in deeply it had only taken a minute for him to pick not only her up but his Delta as well.

Tracked that scent on the breeze from his apartment all the way until she’d gotten home and stepped

inside and Emerson had stated she was home safe. Though he’d noticed something odd himself, a car

near the office had been near her home a block away. She’d not even noticed it.

Someone was following her, he thought, it was the first time he’d seen that and, because she’d snuck off on Friday, he’d not been able to know if it was a mere coincidence or not. The man had been human though, so he doubted, of much threat to Wynta. Only to have Jared remind him she herself was basically

human.

They were going to be trailing her today to find out if it was just a one-off thing or not, but that number plate had come from an office employee, and one on Wynta’s own floor at that. It didn’t bode well as far as he was concerned. He got up and snagged Dwane, and they made their way to the marketing floor.

He could use Dwane for a cover to see if that man was in the office today without actively looking it up. He was just a member of one of the teams and hadn’t been to that meeting today. He stood listening to Dwane talk to the teams one at a time and the man he was looking for, Barry Moore, was at his desk

sitting with his team.

He smiled, shook Jared and Dwane’s hands, and answered all Dwane’s questions. There seemed nothing amiss about the man, perhaps it had been nothing at all, just a coincidence. He never once looked towards Wynta’s office. Though everyone in this department had gotten the staff sss about not letting those that weren’t company employees onto the floor.

That Carlotti, even being one of their CEO’s stepdaughters, had now been banned from the building for the time being, due to her coming in and assaulting one of the staff for nothing more than her own jealousy of seeing Wynta Morgan talking to a staff member, that Carlotti had a crush on and had gone to warn her off.

He opted that evening to follow Wynta from the building himself, had the security footage of the marketing floor running on a screen in his office. She was working alone in the office. It was already 8pm and still she was working. Her team had left the office just after five thirty. They’d all been in her office talking to her, and she’d clearly sent them home before herself.

He wondered just how late she was going to work, when she finally stood up and stretched in her office, and finally he saw her grabbing her things. He got up himself and made his way from his office to follow her. It would give a gap of a few minutes, but that was fine with him. He didn’t need to be right behind her.

He stepped out of the express elevator to see her being let out the front door by security, and he strolled along as he looked at the cars out there. Was there anything suspicious? Was Barry Moore’s car out there

or not?

He saw nothing out of the ordinary by the office but strolled along about 25 meters behind her, not close enough for her to hear his footsteps or pick up his presence, and he didn’t keep his eyes on her, which would give her the feeling of being watched, just watched the streets for anyone else that might look to be

tailing her.

He already knew that she wouldn’t scent him, and he kept his footfall casual and light, not in pace with hers, not that he thought she’d pick that up. She was just on her regular route home and didn’t seem to have a concern in the world, and he realized just how easy it would be to snatch this she-wolf off the

street.

Likely not a good thing, though it was only five blocks to her apartment building, and at this time of night on a Monday, there was hardly anyone about. If a car pulled up and if they were wolves, they would likely only need one to jump out, grab her and yank her into it, and she’d be gone, just like that, 20 seconds and she have vanished. He didn’t like it.
