He’s an Alpha She doesn’t Care (Wynta and Jared ) novel Chapter 115

Wynta

She was mind-linked to by the pack doctor, Gordon, and requested to come to the pack hospital for her blood work results. ‘Wynta, there is an anomaly with your blood work, please come and let me explain it to you,’ he had stated.

‘Is it bad?’ she’d asked a bit confused about the request wolfen folk didn’t really get sick, she got migraine headaches, but that was about it.

‘No, could just explain your headaches is all.’ Gordon had stated.

‘Alright, I’ll come now,’ she answered.

Her eyes moved to Jared as he stood next to her. They’d been walking through the town center to get some lunch at a café. “I have to go to the hospital,” she told him. “My blood work came back.”

“Alright, we’ll go together.” He nodded and turned to head that way.

“Jared, you do realize I can handle these things on my own, right? I don’t need someone to hold my hand at every turn,” she challenged gently, raising an eyebrow.

“Of course I know that, but you also don’t have to do everything alone anymore,” he replied, his voice steady and sincere. “You have me now, sweetheart.”

Wynta hesitated, her thoughts swirling. “Um, maybe I don’t want you in that room,” she shot back, her heart racing as his eyes flicked to her, curiosity etched across his face.

“Hmm, I understand,” he said, his expression shifting to one of contemplation. “But you do realize that the report is going to be seen by my father and me regardless. We’re the ones dealing with those who wish to take you against your will. We need to know the reasons behind that to evaluate the full threat against you, discuss it, and devise a way to prevent any potential dangers.” His words were casual, yet they carried an undeniable weight, as if he were merely laying out the facts.

A soft sigh escaped her lips. “So much for my normal life,” she murmured under her breath, but deep down, she recognized the truth in his words. Not just about the threats looming over her, but about having him by her side. He was her Mate, whether he realized it or not. Was it wrong to deny him the right to be present at this appointment? In the grand scheme of things, she knew that in just a few weeks, he would want to be there for her, not only as her Mate but as an Alpha, ensuring the safety of his Luna.

She could already sense the possessiveness brewing within him. Alpha males were known for their protective instincts, and she had a feeling that Jared would be no exception. The thought made her chuckle inwardly; he was going to drive her absolutely insane. She had jokingly referred to him as a clingy fangirl before, simply because of his overwhelming desire to be close to her. What would he be like when he truly sensed her, when the bond between them was fully realized?

As they walked toward his car, she decided it was time to assert herself. “Don’t start thinking you can just tag along everywhere with me. I’m not about to let you smother me just because I’m a pack member. I still have the right to do things on my own, as I see fit,” she said, her voice calm but firm.

“Of course you do,” Jared replied, his nod affirming her independence. “This just happens to involve your safety, so if you don’t mind, I’d like to be there and hear it firsthand.” He didn’t seem offended; rather, he appeared to understand her need for autonomy.

“Fine, but only because I know you’re right about the doctor telling you and your father,” Wynta conceded as they climbed into the car.

The drive to the hospital was filled with a tense silence, each lost in their own thoughts. Upon arriving, Jared walked her inside, where she was greeted by Marrian and Edward, both hastily dressed in scrubs, their damp hair suggesting they had rushed back from some outdoor activity. A wave of apprehension washed over her as they all turned to face her, their expressions a blend of concern and curiosity.

Feeling Jared’s hand on the small of her back was reassuring, yet it also heightened her anxiety. “It’ll be fine, I’m sure,” he murmured, but she couldn’t shake the feeling of dread. What could possibly compel the reigning Alpha and Luna to interrupt their time in the woods for a mere pack member’s blood results?

Gordon ushered them into his office, where chairs were already arranged, waiting for them. “Now, what I found were unknown markers in your blood, Wynta,” he began, his tone serious. “Even as I examined them, I felt a strange familiarity. I cross-matched them with our pack files, and well, there was a striking similarity to another within the pack.”

“What do you mean?” she frowned, struggling to grasp the implications.

“Your markers are similar to the Luna’s, but yours are present in a higher quantity,” Gordon explained, his gaze shifting to Marrian, who smiled encouragingly but remained silent, urging him to continue. “We also detected markers indicating you were bled to another, and this wasn’t just a typical bleeding. It appears you were bled to the same person multiple times.”

“It won’t remove the kin bond, just the bleeding,” he reassured her. “The kin bond will remain intact because that’s what you want. But it will also alleviate the pain and the reaction from her attempts to connect with you in the future. She might even be able to do so at will afterward. I dare say there’s something unique about her that could very well have been passed on to you.”

“There is,” Gordon confirmed. “Wynta, you share some of the same markers as our Luna, but in much greater quantities—over a hundred-fold.”

“Markers for what?” Wynta inquired, her brow furrowing in confusion.

Gordon glanced between her and Marrian, who nodded for him to continue. “You and Marrian have markers for foresight, though yours are different—of higher quality and in much greater quantities. This means you’ll likely be able to think about something and foresee it at some point.”

“I also want to test the one you were bled to as well, to see if those markers are present in her blood—whether it’s your mother’s or father’s trait. I’m betting on your mother’s, as it’s more common for she-wolves to possess the gift of foresight.”

Wynta turned to look at the Luna, realizing Jared was unaware of his own mother’s abilities. Marrian smiled softly. “My gift is minuscule at best; it’s more like I occasionally dream about things that come true. Edward and I kept it from everyone except the Alpha’s unit.”

“Because gifts like this can put someone like you on the radar of those who wish to control you,” Edward added, his tone serious. “It’s best not to disclose such things, only to those who can be trusted completely. Wynta, I want you to come to my office and allow the un-bleeding. It’s essential we gather all the facts surrounding you and understand why your father is so insistent on claiming you.”

She sat there, contemplating his words for several moments before looking at Gordon. “Will un-bleeding me stop the migraines?”

“Yes, and it’s also entirely possible you’ll undergo a shift this full moon as well,” Gordon stated, his gaze steady. “If her intent was to hide your beast from the world, know this—you do have markers for one. You’re not wolf-less; you’re merely without a wolf for now. Edward was never wrong about that. She’s likely just dormant, waiting to feel the call of the moon.”
