He’s an Alpha She doesn’t Care (Wynta and Jared ) novel Chapter 92

Edward

He’d been informed by the building security that Wynta was in trouble outside the building, there was an altercation going on between her and who they knew to be Alpha Nolan. She was actively fighting him as he tried to drag her away. He was getting a play by play of her fight against Nolan. He smiled to himself, even wolf-less; she was willing to strike an Alpha Wolf.

He’s an Alpha, and she doesn’t care at all about that. If they were also right about her being a hidden Alpha. That, combined with her being a rogue for so very long, it was no wonder she was so bloody stubborn and hard to bring in. She kicked that man and tried to hit him, unconcerned about the ramifications.

As soon as he received the news, he and his unit sprang into action. The express elevator felt like it was flying down to the ground floor as he absorbed the updates filtering in. Three men had intervened on her behalf, but Wynta had taken a tumble in the scuffle, yet she was still shouting at Nolan, unleashing her fury. She was adamant about never returning to that pack, and her determination only made him smile wider.

The more he observed her, the more he appreciated her fierce spirit. Each time she stood up for herself, his admiration grew. As he rushed out of the office building, his gaze fixated on the scene unfolding outside, he felt a deep-seated certainty that Jared and the others were right about her. This was not the behavior of a typical rogue. If she were truly lost to her rogue instincts, she would be consumed by rage, not allowing anyone to protect her.

What he saw in her eyes was something different—anger, yes, but also a strange calmness. A rogue would have been wild, almost feral, but Wynta was holding her ground. In the five years she had spent in their company, it was clear that his plan had begun to bear fruit. Without her even realizing it, she had learned to trust him and his unit, to trust those around her. Engaging with her in a playful manner had been the key to coaxing her back into the fold, slowly transforming her into a member of the wolfen pack.

His heart warmed at the thought of her interactions with Kyan. It was a sight he had never witnessed before—Wynta laughing, genuinely enjoying herself with his pack members. The way she playfully bantered with Jared filled him with hope. Perhaps this full moon would be the turning point, the moment she would finally accept her place among them. He could only wish for that to come true.

He was taken aback when Jared mentioned that the four men were otherworldly. It struck him as strange; after living here for over a century, he had never sensed such a presence. The revelation of a local fox den was astonishing, especially when he realized that Tallah, the woman Dwane seemed so taken with, was part of it.

Foxes were notoriously clever, and he had never engaged deeply with Tallah, only recalling her human scent from their initial meetings. He had been oblivious to the den’s existence, which was typical of foxes—they blended in with humans to stay safe. They were among the smallest shifters in the otherworldly realm, and their survival often depended on remaining unnoticed, avoiding capture and servitude in other packs.

His unit, along with Mason, took the express elevator first, while Jared and the triplets would follow. The elevator was not spacious enough for three units at once. They adhered to protocol, with the true Alphas and their Heirs taking precedence. He knew those three boys outside must have Alpha blood coursing through their veins to stand against Nolan. Mason was the Alpha of that fox den.

Gesturing for Mason to sit on the couch in his office, Edward settled down beside him. “We’ll wait for the boys,” he said, his voice steady.

Mason shook his head, “No need for that. I’ve already spoken with Jared and learned Dwane’s thoughts on my daughter.”

His words hung in the air, and Edward felt a mix of relief and trepidation. “So, you were discussing her when all this trouble began? Luckily, your boys were there to intervene, or she might have vanished from our sight.”

It was clear now; Tallah was an Alpha-blooded fox, and those triplets were her brothers, not just siblings but part of the same litter. “I’m not thrilled about it, but at least we know which pack he belongs to,” Edward replied, his voice tinged with concern. “Thank you for your help.”

Mason waved his hand dismissively but pressed on, “And which pack would that be?”

“Blue Ridge pack in Wyoming,” Edward informed him, his mind racing with implications.

Mason pondered, “I don’t have any allies in that region, but I believe you’re familiar with a kitsune in Utah.”

“Yes, the granddaughter of Sloan, who is now mated to Alpha Austin of the Wolfen Council. You’re aware of them?” Edward replied, his curiosity piqued.

“I have a niece mated into the Alpha Unit of the Wandering Moon. If need be, I could reach out to her. My home pack is also Sloan’s,” Mason explained, drawing Edward’s full attention.

“You’re a kitsune?” Edward asked, astonished.

“No, I’m a fox, alpha-blooded. I am related to Sloan, though several generations removed,” Mason clarified, surprising Edward even more.

“May I inquire about your mate?” Edward ventured cautiously.

“She made a chirping noise when I picked her up; she was quite tipsy and barely able to stand. I thought it was adorable,” Dwane explained, a grin spreading across his face.

“Strange for a human,” Jared chimed in. “I was there; she rubbed her face all over Dwane. That’s not typical human behavior.”

“Indeed, it’s not,” Mason agreed. “To my knowledge, she has never made any fox sounds before. It seems bringing you two together under the full moon is a promising idea.”

“We’re hosting a mating ball this full moon. Only two other packs will be attending—Obsidian and Coral Moon,” Edward informed them. “Are you familiar with them? Would you feel comfortable?”

“Obsidian is acceptable. They have a mix of bears, cougars, and wolves coexisting peacefully, and they enjoy the protection of the wolfen king,” Mason replied thoughtfully. “I also have several foxes working for Obsidian Corp’s new yachting venture, helping with yacht construction—though Alpha Braxton remains oblivious.” He chuckled softly. “As for Coral Moon, that’s intriguing to me. A pack of sea sprites dominating the pearl industry. I think that would be fine… boys?” He glanced at his triplet sons.

“As long as we’re there,” Cam stated, nodding in agreement.

“Dwane?” Edward turned to him, knowing this was ultimately about him.

Dwane nodded, “I planned to stay close to her anyway. However, I suspect Wynta will try to avoid this full moon, just like she has in the past. That might lead Tallah to do the same. They seem…” he glanced at Jared with a teasing smile, “intent on annoying your boy.”

Mason waved off the concern. “Tallah wouldn’t do that, not if she wants her fox to arrive.”
