Daron gave her a brooding look. After a few seconds, he raised his hand and held up three long, elegant fingers.
Marina thought he was giving her the okay, and a flicker of joy flashed in her eyes.
But her excitement barely had time to surface before Daron said coolly, “Three months.”
“Stick around Zamora Group for three more months after our contract ends, and I’ll set Elnora up with a trustworthy agent,” Daron suggested.
The excitement in Marina’s eyes vanished in an instant.
Three months, ninety days. It wasn’t a long time, but it wasn’t short either.
She hesitated.
Daron wasn’t in any hurry. He waited for her to think it over, then mentioned offhandedly, “Just remember, the three months only start after our current contract ends.”
He seemed worried she might miss the point, so he made sure to stress that the clock only starts ticking once their current contract is over.
Getting a reliable agent to help Elnora handle the company’s business was definitely worth it, whichever way she looked at it.
Marina’took a deep breath, nodded, and agreed, “Deal.”
Then, she asked cautiously, “Once I’m done with Ross Group, can I request to work at Zamora Group headquarters for those three months?”
She wanted to be near Elnora.
Daron raised an eyebrow, his tone cool as ever. “There’s nothing open for you at Zamora Group headquarters.”
A flicker of disappointment crossed Marina’s face.
With no spot open at Zamora Group headquarters, Marina would be stuck at Ross Group. While it was not like she couldn’t stay, right now, her mind was set on getting back to Vrufield.
Her disappointment was written all over her face, and Daron shot her a cool glance.
“Didn’t you say Sicester was your favorite? What, you don’t want to stick around anymore?” Daron asked.
Marina replied, “There’s no one left here for me to miss, so I don’t really feel like staying.”
Daron’s long, narrow eyes narrowed just a bit.
“Is that so?” he said, his voice cool.
Marina nodded. “Yeah, that’s true.”
With Alyssa gone and her shares in Ross Group sold to Daron, there was nothing left for her here.
All she wanted now was to return to Elnora’s side and be there for her.
“So, there’s someone in Vrufield you’re thinking about now?” Daron asked lightly, his dark, intense gaze
Marina nodded, letting out a soft hum in affirmation.

Hearing that, Daron’s lips curved into a faint smile, but he didn’t press her any further.

The driver up front snuck a peek in the rearview mirror, saw Daron’s faint smirk, and couldn’t help but roast him in his mind.
‘Mr. Zamora, what if Ms. Finley isn’t even thinking about you?‘ he wondered silently.
But of course, he kept that thought to himself. He didn’t dare say it out loud like Garret would.
Soon, they arrived at the airport.
Marina and Daron went straight through the VIP entrance together.
Since their flight was delayed, they got sent to the lounge to wait
As soon as Marina and Daron walked into the lounge, they ran into Mallory at the entrance.
Mallory’s eyes lit up when she spotted Daron, and she immediately sidled up to him.
“Daron, you’re going to Sicester too?” she asked, completely ignoring Marina.
Daron didn’t bother looking her way. He headed straight for a seat and sat down.
A flicker of embarrassment flashed across Mallory’s face. Catching Marina’s half–smirk, she bit her lip and quickly made her way to the seat beside Daron.
Just as she was about to sit down, Daron gave her a cold, cutting glare.
Mallory stiffened, stuck awkwardly between sitting down or backing away.
Noticing Marina was still standing there, Daron glanced up at her and said in a low, commanding voice, “Get over here.”
Marina finally walked over to Daron, giving Mallory a courteous smile as she spoke.
“Sorry, Ms. Gill, but Mr. Zamora and I need to talk business. Would you mind moving over?”
Mallory shot Marina a venomous glare, but grudgingly gave up the seat next to Daron and settled for the seat next to Marina instead.
While they waited, Daron casually picked up one of the airline’s magazines and started flipping through it.
On the other hand, Mallory kept looking for a chance to strike up a conversation with Daron.
Mallory piped up, “Daron, I’m heading to Sicester for work too. The Gill family just rolled out a new drink brand, and it’s been getting great feedback in the market. I’m in charge of bringing in new franchise partners this time.”
“I don’t have much experience yet, so my family wants me to get some real–world practice. If I have any questions, can I come to you for advice?” Mallory asked.
Daron set the magazine down and gave Mallory a cold, dismissive glance.
“Sorry, I don’t waste my time teaching idiots,” he said, his tone icy.
Marina had seen Daron’s savage tongue before, so she just arched an eyebrow, totally unfazed. After all, such behavior was
classic of Daron.
Earlier, Marina had made sure to lean back, giving Mallory all the space she needed to cozy up to Daron. She’d been waiting for this exact moment.

Chapter 166
Marina felt a surge of satisfaction seeing Mallory on the
verge of tears.
Over the years, the Gill sisters had pulled so many dirty tricks on Elnora.
They deserved to be roasted by Daron.
