Chapter 191
“After seven years with someone like you, I deeply regret every moment,” Marina said coldly.
Her cold and indifferent look, paired with those cutting words, drained the color from Lavern’s face.
The elevator doors slid open, and she stepped inside.
“Marina!” Lavern called out.
Just as he was about to follow her, his phone started ringing.
He paused and pulled out his phone. It was from Yara.
Lavern frowned and looked up at Marina, just as her phone started ringing too.
Marina glanced down and saw it was from Robert. She closed the elevator doors and then answered the call.

As Lavern locked eyes with Marina, a strong, inexplicable sense of unease surged in his chest. He quickly answered Yara’s call.
Yara’s anxious voice came through.
“Lavern, Robert just took my uncle away,” he said urgently.
Lavern frowned, irritation flashing in his eyes as he reached out to stop the elevator doors from closing.
But he was a second too late. The elevator was already slowly moving upward.
“Ms. Finley, I’ve convinced Lyle. But when I was taking him away, Jasper spotted us. Lyle is in my car right now, and Jasper is tailing us in his own car. What should I do?” Robert asked urgently.
Marina’s grip on her phone tightened as she heard this.
“Report to the police first,” she said.
Once they got to the special agency, Jasper definitely wouldn’t dare keep chasing them.
“Won’t that mess up your plan?” Robert asked.
Marina replied calmly, “Safety comes first. Only then can we move forward with the plan. Since they’ve already caught on, we’ll have to expedite the process. After you report it, make sure to bring Lyle over.”
However, after all this commotion, there was no way for the audit team to conduct a surprise inspection anymore.
If Lavern caught wind of this, he’d definitely destroy all the evidence within the next day or two.
Right now, Marina could only lead her team to secure the evidence before it was too late.
As soon as Marina stepped out of the elevator, she called her team together and personally led them downstairs.
But as they exited, Lavern’s staff blocked their way.
Daniel stepped up and quickly cleared a path for the group.

Lavern’s office door was locked from the inside.
It was obvious Jasper had already tipped him off about Robert taking 1yle away.
Daniel rammed the door a few times, but it wouldn’t budge.
Marina rubbed her temples and stopped Daniel. She tried entering the password herself, but the system flashed an error
message
Lavern had already changed the password the moment he found out.
Marina had personally chosen this door for Lavern. It was very advanced, and no amount of brute force could break it down
She signaled her team to confiscate all the files from the secretary’s office.
The staff fought back hard, trying to stop them from taking anything.
The scene quickly descended into chaos.
“Lavern abused his authority for personal gain, broke company rules, and misappropriated company assets. If you keep getting in our way, I’ll count you as his accomplices. The company will come after you, one by one,” Marina said coldly.
Her words hit everyone like a knife.
Even the staff who’d been dead set on blocking the way started to hesitate.
Marina stayed cool, swept her eyes over the crowd, and spoke in a deep, commanding tone, “From this moment on, anyone who doesn’t cooperate would be considered his accomplices.”
Seeing the staff falter, Lavern’s chief secretary, Yvonne, finally spoke up.
“Ms. Finley, Mr. Ross is the acting top executive right now. You storm in here with your team, throwing the office into turmoil and disrupting company operations. Isn’t that putting the company’s interests at risk?” she challenged.
Marina smiled coldly and said, “So, you’re with Lavern, right? Once the investigation into him is done, we’ll be coming for you next.”
Yvonne’s face froze, her anger barely contained.
She snapped back, “Ms. Finley, your beef with Mr. Ross shouldn’t spill over into work. Ross Group nearly went under because of you, and Mr. Ross had to sell off his shares just to keep the company alive. Now you’re causing trouble again. Do you really want to see Ross Group crash and burn?”
Marina stayed cool, stepping right up to Yvonne and locking eyes with her.
“Ross Group’s mess isn’t on me. It’s because Lavern’s reputation is shot. None of our partners wants to do business with him anymore,” she replied coldly.
Yvonne took a deep breath and quickly said, “If you hadn’t exposed all that stuff, how would the other partners have…”
Marina didn’t let her finish and cut her off mid–sentence.
“How much is Lavern paying you off the books? Why are you still sticking your neck out for him? Are you really his accomplice?” she shot back.

Yvonne’s expression changed slightly
“Mr. Ross is the one who put me in this position, so of course I’m grateful to him. You have no evidence, you you barge in here trying to cause trouble? I won’t let you mess with Mr. Ross’s interests; the retorted.
Marina gave a cold, sarcastic laugh.
“Your salary comes from Ross Group. And I’m the one who founded this company” she said.
Before Marina could finish, the elevator dinged open.
Ross Group’s security guys poured out. Looked like the whole crew had been called in.
Yvonne rushed over to them, her voice tense. “What took you so long?
Marina arched an eyebrow, a mocking smirk tugging at her lips as she motioned for her team to head straight into Yvonne’s office and take every single document away.
Yvonne rushed over to block them, then quickly turned to the security team.
“What are you waiting for? Get them out of here!” she barked.
But the security captain stood his ground, simply giving Marina a respectful nod.
