Chapter 277
Chapter 277
Marina pushed Daron’s handsome face away from hers and said with a straight face. “It’s working hours. You shouldn’t.
Before she could finish, Daron leaned down and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek.
Marina was speechless.
Seeing the exasperation on her face, Daron let a faint smile tug at his lips and said in a gentle tone, ‘Let’s eat for now. We can talk about work later.”
Marina had barely had anything for breakfast, and now that Daron brought it up, her stomach started to grows.
Daron reached for her hand and guided her over to the long table nearby.
He’d ordered dishes from Silkwind Kitchen.
As Daron opened up all the dishes, Marina realized most of them were her favorites.
She glanced down at Daron, who looked completely at ease, not trying to show off or take credit. He probably just picked what he likes, without really thinking about what I prefer, she thought.
Marina sat down and started eating,
Daron kept piling food onto her plate throughout the meal.
“You’re way too skinny. Eat more. You’re so light I could pick you up with one hand,” he said.
Marina just hummed in response and kept her head down, shoveling rice into her mouth.
After the meal, Marina’s phone rang. It was a call from Elnora.
She glanced at the screen, got up, and walked away to answer, making sure Daron couldn’t overhear.
Daron watched her instinctively move away, his brows furrowing as a trace of another emotion flickered in his eyes.
Marina walked over to the big window and picked up the call. “Hi, Elnora.”
As soon as Marina spoke, Elnora’s chilly voice came through on the other end. “So, did you get your marriage license yet?”
Marina murmured, “Yup, got it.”
Elnora said, “Okay. I’ve packed up all your things from home and sent everything over to you. If you’re missing anything. just come back and get it yourself.
Marina’s grip on her phone tightened.
She’d only come back to Vrufield to spend time with Elnora, but now, before she knew it, she was already moving out of the Finley family home again.
“Sis, you really didn’t have to rush to pack up all my things and send them over,” Marina said softly. “I’ll still come home and stay with you sometimes.”
Elnora gave a faint smile and said, “I’m not in a hurry, but someone else definitely is. He paid a hefty price to marry you. He’s not planning to spend his nights alone.”

As Vinora spoke, she glanced at the documents from Zamora Group that had arrived early that morning, a smile tugging at her lips.
She never imagined Daron would make such a big investment.
If this project goes through, the Finley Group will completely transform itself.
“Besides, you’ve been dreaming about this for ages. Now that you’re married, do you really still want to live separately from
him? Elnora teased.
Marina’s cheeks flushed at Elnora’s teasing, and she blurted out a denial.
“It’s not like that?” she insisted.
Elnora let out a laugh. “Oh, please. Like I don’t know you?”
As she spoke, she set the documents down and added in a laid–back tone, “You and Daron really are a perfect match. One of you is savage with words, the other never backs down. Now that you’re together, let’s see who wins the battle of snark.
Marina was lost for words.
“Alright, sis, can we not talk about this anymore? I’ll come hang out with you at home another time,” Marina said.
Elnora replied, “No need to come back and keep me company. I’ve been swamped with work lately. Besides, Albert’s moved into the Finley family home
Marina took a deep breath, her voice tinged with a mix of annoyance and mock complaint.
“So that’s why you were in such a hurry to kick me out of the Finley family home, just so you could have some alone time with him? Sis, that’s so unfair! You’re totally choosing your man over your sister!”
Elnora just chuckled and let it slide.
From the other end of the line, Albert called out, “Elnora, dinner’s ready!”
Marina gave a little snort and hung up, not wanting to be the third wheel.
After putting her phone away, Marina settled back onto the couch.
Daron had already finished eating. He cleared away his plate, then stood up and headed out.
Marina looked up at him, watching his movements.
“Did you already eat?” she asked.
Daron gave a slight nod in response.
“Leave it, I’ll take care of it,” Marina offered.
But Daron didn’t let her. Instead, he quietly washed the dishes himself and put them away in the cabinet.
Marina paused for a moment, watching him. Is Daron suddenly in a bad mood? she wondered.
‘Did I do something to piss him off? she thought. Just a minute ago, he was acting normal…
Marina sighed, still clueless about what was up with Daron.

Chapter 277
She quickly finished her meal, tidied up the table, and washed the dishes. After checking the time, she noticed Daron since in his office chair. She straightened her clothes, adopted a businesslike demeanor, and walked over
“Mr. Zamora, you have a meeting at two. It’s already 1:50,” she said, all business,
Daron glanced up at her.
Hearing her call him “Mr. Zamora” so smoothly, without even pausing to think about changing how she addressed him, Daron felt a heavy, annoyed lump settle in his chest.
He stared at her, his face turning serious as he spoke.
Daron shot her a look. “What did you just call me?”
Marina, keeping it strictly professional, answered, “Mr. Zamora.”
Daron’s expression turned cold. “Seriously, do I have to remind you we’re married now?”
Marina pressed her lips together, catching the irritation in Daron’s eyes. She let out a quiet sigh and said softly. “But we’re as the office. Didn’t we agree to keep things under wraps for now?”
Daron let out a cold snort. “Funny how that’s the one thing you never forget.”
Marina gave him her best business smile and said quietly, “I keep track of everything.”
