His Dangerous Angel (Serena and Sebastian) novel Chapter 114

Taylor narrowed his eyes. Hah—what was that supposed to mean?

Just then, Dr. Q’s reply came through. By the time he finished discussing with her, an hour had already passed. When he checked Serena’s chat again, there was still nothing new—no explanation, not even a casual "sent by mistake."

If she hadn’t said it was a mistake, then those two retracted messages had definitely been meant for him. What had she wanted to say, only to take it back? What was so shameful about it?

His fingers hovered over the chat box, but in the end he didn’t type a single word. Damn it—why was it that the more he tried to suppress it, the more he wanted to know?

Scientists thrived on curiosity, and Serena’s two withdrawn messages had sparked Taylor’s research spirit to the fullest. He barely slept that night, even jolting awake in the middle of the night to check his phone.

What the hell had that troublemaker sent him?

After replying to Taylor’s questions, Serena simply took the screenshots of Thanos’s rant and tossed them into the family group chat.

Of course, she carefully edited them first, leaving only the most damning line: "I’ll make Mom and Dad kick you out."

Moments later, Olivia’s footsteps thundered upstairs, broom in hand, followed by Thanos’s screams of agony.

"Serena, I’ll be back! You just wait!"

Opening her door, Serena caught sight of Thanos dashing past like a whirlwind. From the room next door, Lebron poked his head out, looking her way with a smile.

The next morning, Taylor was exhausted, too drained to even drive himself—his chauffeur brought him to school.

At the gate, he noticed the Morrows’ car.

When Serena walked up, he asked, "Did you message me last night?"

Serena looked perfectly innocent. "No."

Her voice was so calm it was as if he’d dreamed the whole thing.

Taylor pulled out his phone, showing her the WhatsApp screen with her withdrawn messages.

Serena’s round eyes remained clear. "You must be seeing things. Where’s the proof?"

Unbelievable.

Taylor had never seen someone so shameless. The evidence was right there—she could have at least blamed it on a glitch or admitted to a wrong recipient, anything to sound like a normal human being!

But Serena didn’t seem interested in being human. Her little face stayed unruffled as she walked off, offering neither explanation nor apology for the night he’d spent tossing and turning.

Back in the student council office, Celeste brought him breakfast.

Taylor finally let out his pent-up frustration. "Isn’t Serena insane?"

"I’ve already revised the issues you pointed out yesterday…"

Serena blinked. Faster than she’d expected. That kind of relentless drive was exactly what the research institute thrived on. If they recruited him, he could indeed bring them significant results.

Then Taylor suddenly switched on his camera, ready to show her the robotic arm.

Serena didn’t hesitate much before accepting the call.

In those few seconds of waiting, Taylor’s heartbeat grew uncontrollably faster. Was he finally about to see Dr. Q?

The young woman who had inspired his path in science, the idol he had admired for ten years.

What would she look like? Long hair?

No—someone devoted to research probably wouldn’t bother. She must have neat, practical short hair.

No makeup, maybe thick glasses. Dark circles from nights spent working at the bench.

But those were the marks of a true scientist—their medals of honor.

Taylor’s heart hammered wildly. He was finally going to see his idol. And yet…
