Three minutes later, a staff member knocked on the door to Room 303.
Craig was playing cards. Kelly immediately stood up. “You guys keep playing. That’s probably Serena. I’ll go get her.”
Craig nodded.
Kelly stepped out and was met by a security guard who cautiously asked, “Is Mr. Craig here?”
Kelly gave a cold smile. “Can’t I speak for my cousin?”
“N-No, Ma’am, that’s not what I meant!” The guard wiped his forehead nervously.
“Has Serena arrived?”
The attendant handed over the sign-in sheet. “She said we had to ask Mr. Craig in person before she’d leave.”
“Just tell her my cousin isn’t interested. And stop bothering him with this kind of thing. He’s here for an important business meeting.”
She pulled out a wad of cash and handed it over as a tip.
“Yes, of course!”
The staff member accepted the money and headed off. Kelly followed behind, eager to witness Serena being thrown out in disgrace.
The staff whispered something to the two guards at the door, and they immediately moved to stand on either side of Serena.
“Miss, you’re not welcome here. Please leave.”
Their tone was polite, but their posture was firm.
Leaning against the wall, Kelly smiled coolly.
A piece of trash like her trying to walk into a high-end venue like this? Ridiculous.
She wanted Serena to recognize her place once and for all, and let go of her pathetic delusions about climbing the social ladder.
Serena, meanwhile, was just about to pull out her SVIP card and teach them some manners—maybe even clean up a few of these disrespectful fools—when a Maybach pulled up to the entrance.
The moment the man stepped out of the car, all the pride and smugness drained from Kelly’s face.
“Who is that? Why would he come here?”
The staff member she grabbed jumped in fright. “He’s the only SVIP of this establishment. We have no right to know his name or background.”
Kelly’s face went completely pale.
SVIP. She’d heard Craig talk about it. The only people who qualified as SVIPs at Azure Club were aristocrats from Ardenos and elite families from around the world. Evervale City had only seen its first one appear just over six months ago.
So who was this man?
The lobby was full of people.
Two guards at the door, eight hostesses, another eight security guards, two receptionists, and several passing staff.
But the moment Sebastian stepped out of the car, he instantly noticed the slim figure in the back, nearly swallowed up by voluptuous bodies and crowding limbs.
Noah felt it too—Mr. Hayes walked 0.01 seconds faster than usual today, his stride a few centimeters longer.
The staff at Azure Club finally heard the voice of the elusive socialite.
“Have dinner with me.”
His voice was tight, like something was caught in his throat.
Serena said nothing for a beat.
“The food here’s pretty good.”
Her eyes flickered. Reluctantly, she replied, “Fine, I guess.”
He finally understood—there was no way this girl would ever take the initiative to speak to him in public.
What he didn’t understand was, with his looks and wealth, how had she already lost interest?
Kelly’s eyes turned blood red. She pulled out her phone to snap a photo of Sebastian and Serena together—but before she could even lower the camera, an icy gaze swept across the room.
Terrified, she ducked into a corner.
Sebastian didn’t spare her more than two seconds. He turned to Noah. “Handle it.”
That word handle clearly referred to those who had disrespected Serena.
The entire lobby fell silent.
Sebastian led Serena through the VIP entrance to the SVIP event room.
The decor was classically elegant. Outside the window, a small stream flowed under a stone bridge. Soft music played. The air smelled faintly of sandalwood.
