His Dangerous Love On Ice (Olivia and Zane) novel Chapter 52

Zane’s POV

I was dangerous. That was true. And greedy. And I probably wouldn’t let her go even after two months.

But I shouldn’t have called her weak. Because she wasn’t. She was stronger than anyone I’d ever met.

But I wasn’t going to tell her that. I was going to make her feel it. Understand it in every possible way that she was way out of Cole’s league. That he never deserved her.

That even I didn’t deserve her.

But I couldn’t let anyone else have her.

“I’m leaving. And now you’ve ripped all my clothes. Fuck—”

She groaned, and I stayed quiet, maintaining that same fake calmness, that unreadable expression I’d perfected over years.

I walked to the closet, pulling out a well-tailored suit I’d had my personal shopper prepare, along with a pair of designer heels.

“Here.” I handed them to her. “I had this prepared for you.”

She took them with shaky hands.

Without another word, she disappeared into the walk-in closet.

Ten minutes later, she emerged.

And I was stunned.

She looked different. Like the kind of woman who could command a room just by walking into it. Who could close deals with a smile. Who could make every head turn without even trying.

And the only thing I wanted to do was walk over there, pull her back to me, rip those clothes off, and claim her again and again until everyone could smell me on her. Until everyone understood she was mine.

“I’m leaving,” she said, voice cold. “And I don’t want to see you. I need space from you. Maybe to think about how pathetic my life has been. And maybe move on from Cole properly, since I apparently never got the chance to do it. Since I need a special ritual for that.”

She turned toward the door.

I tried to stop her. Tried to tell her I was wrong. But accepting I was wrong wasn’t my specialty. Making things right was.

And space?

She needed space?

The word drummed through my mind.

“I had the staff prepare breakfast,” I said. “Have some before heading to work. I wouldn’t want you angry at me on an empty stomach. Especially after last-”

“Don’t you dare complete that sentence.”

She glared at me, the redness on her cheeks making her look even more beautiful, making my cock twitch despite everything

And she walked out with those bold, confident steps.

“Night,” I whispered, the last word dropping as she closed the door behind her.

“Great, Zane.” I muttered to myself. “You just made everything worse.”

I looked down at my hard erection and chuckled darkly.

You really don’t understand situations, now do you?”

I stood there alone in my bedroom, staring at the closed door, the silence pressing in on me.
