His Housewife Had Secret Identities novel Chapter 734

Niamh didn't let her shoulders slump in relief until the white-coated figure had been gone for a long, long time. She and Lana collapsed onto a bench in the hospital corridor, hugging each other, both feeling completely drained.

“That was terrifying,” Lana said, her face covered in a cold sweat. “I really thought he was going to shoot.”

Niamh pulled out a tissue to wipe Lana’s forehead, her mind replaying Joker’s words. “Lana, will you be okay here by yourself for a bit?” Lana looked at her, surprised. “I guess so. Why?”

“I… I want to go see Jonathan.” “Then I’ll go with you.” Knowing Lana was just worried about her, Niamh nodded. “Okay.”

The two of them went to the ICU, but it was outside of visiting hours, so they could only look through the glass window. Jonathan lay inside, the tubes connected to his body a shocking and painful sight. Lana snuck a glance at Niamh. She had no idea why Niamh suddenly wanted to see Jonathan, but even for Lana, who barely knew him, the sight was deeply upsetting.

Niamh stared silently at Jonathan in the ICU for a long time before she and Lana went to find the nurse on duty. “Excuse me, nurse, has anyone been here to visit Jonathan recently?” The nurse shook her head. “I don’t think so. It’s pretty late.”

Soon, Lana’s soft, steady breathing filled the room as she fell asleep in Niamh’s embrace. But Niamh was wide awake, her mind still turning over Joker’s words. If… if the precondition for Joker to kill her was Jonathan waking up, then… could the person Joker truly hated… actually be Jonathan?

For the next two weeks, Niamh remained in the hospital to ensure her pregnancy was stable. After the run-in with Joker, Elmer had suggested hiring two bodyguards, but Niamh felt it was unnecessary. As cunning as Joker was, she didn't believe he was lying that night. He’d had the perfect opportunity to kill her, but he hadn’t. It was clear he was genuinely waiting for Jonathan to wake up.

After two weeks, her obstetrician told her the pregnancy was secure. She could be discharged but would need to come back for regular check-ups. Neither Lana nor Elmer ever found out that the real reason for her long hospital stay was her pregnancy. And by the time she left, Jonathan still hadn't woken up. Whether he ever would was a question no one could answer.
