"That's because you're not used to it yet." Natalie gently patted Eli's arm. "David is very well-known on campus. If everyone finds out about your relationship, your life could change."

Eli fell silent.

Natalie continued in a reassuring tone, "I just don't want you to misunderstand David. He's not very good at explaining his feelings, so don't think too much about his behavior." She wrapped an arm tightly around Eli. "Trust me. I've known David since we were children. He really doesn't like his private life becoming public's business."

"Miss, we're here," the driver informed her as they entered the Miller family's estate.

"Thank you, Mr. Hans." Eli was full of excitement.

It was the weekend, just as the girl had promised. She had returned to the Miller family's main residence. As soon as she got out of the car, Eli was immediately greeted by Grace, who had been waiting for her at the front door. Grace promptly asked a servant to help Eli carry her luggage before she even had a chance to refuse.

"You're finally home," Grace greeted her with a wide smile.

Eli laughed. "I promised. Of course I wouldn't break it."

"True. But still, it feels like you've been gone forever."

Grace hugged her briefly before leading her inside. Eli laughed softly as she followed. The house still felt the same as the last time she had come. Warm, peaceful, and making her feel as though she had never truly left.

As soon as she entered the dining room, she found Josh already sitting there with his family. He immediately looked up when he heard Eli's footsteps.

"I thought you were going to miss breakfast with us again."

Eli rolled her eyes in annoyance. "Don't start."

Josh chuckled.

Eli then saw Althea preparing some food on the table. Without thinking twice, she immediately approached her.

"Mrs. Althea, let me help."

Althea immediately turned around. Her face brightened the moment she saw Eli standing beside her. "You just got here. Sit down. You don't need to help."

"I got enough rest during the trip."

Eli took several plates from Althea's hands before the woman could stop her. Althea could only smile as she watched her. "You're still the same."
