It was a known fact. The TnC Group, under Nathaniel Miller’s overight, contributed extensively to professionals like doctors and other healthcare workers-supporting them in multiple ways from education to better employment conditions. Nathan paid close attention to their welfare.
And yet…
“They should be,” Cale said, pulling out a chair and sitting directly across from Noel. “But I don’t understand why he chose to abuse his profession.” He slid a stack of documents toward Daven
Daven immediately flipped through them. The files contained Noe Abraham’s résumé-personal details, academic background, highest qualifications attained. Included as well was the extent of TnC Group’s involvement in supporting his
career.
“He’s considered one of the more prominent specialists,” Daven said, letting out a slow breath.
Cale nodded in agreement, then shifted his gaze to the man across from them. “Repeat what you told me earlier.”
Daven did the same pulling out a chair and sitting beside Cale. His lue eyes settled calmly on the man in front of him. There was no anger in his expression, no threat in his tone. And yet, that composure was far more unsettling than any raised voice.
The man in the white coat swallowed hard. He glanced

hiy at Cale, then turned to Daven. His gaze wavered, like someone
“I… I only did what I was told,” he said at last, his voice hoarse. “I now it was wrong. But I was under pressure.”
Daven didn’t interrupt, but he needed clarity. “Pressure from who?” he asked evenly.
The man drew in a long breath, as if gathering courage. Even now, he wasn’t sure if he was making the right choice. He didn’t know how long he would be kept here-truly. Everything had happened so fast, without warning. Even that night, the night he had nearly lost his life after losing control at a major intersection. He had just finished a grueling surgery that drained both his time and energy.
And suddenly… he was here.
Had the loss of control in his car been staged? He didn’t know. He hadn’t had time to think. Everything had been terrifying.
“You don’t want to say it?” Cale asked, a faint smile tugging at his ips. “You were quite fluent when you told were hiding.”
“N-no, Mr. Miller,” Noel stammered. “It’s just… I need the guarantee I asked from you.’
me
everything you
“And what did I say about that request?” Cale clicked his tongue, iritation creeping in. His patience was thinning.
“You said you would protect me,” Noel replied, his voice trembling “P-please make sure of that first, Mr. Miller. If you promise, I’ll tell you everything.”
“Everything?” Cale narrowed his eyes. “Meaning there’s still more you haven’t told me?”
Noel lowered his head further. “If you’re willing to protect my family as well. I did all of this under threat, Mr. Miller. I was… forced.”
Cale scoffed.
“Forced?” This time, Daven spoke. “You say you were forced, yet the documents Cale just showed me, I see a transfer of funds large enough for you to live comfortably in an Asian country or the rest of your life. Do you think we’re idiots?”
“No! It’s not like that! Truly!” Noel looked at Daven desperately.
never used that money, Mr. Daven. I was coerced. I swear.”
“Then tell us,” Cale said, his voice heavy with emphasis, “what else did you do besides falsify the DNA test at the hospital my father has poured so much funding into? You should have been standing with us-the Miller family. Not on the opposite side like this.”

“You’re right, Mr. Miller,” Noel said quietly. “That man orchestrated everything. The DNA test results weren’t real. The data was altered before it was submitted.”
The overhead light reflected off the steel table, highlighting every light tremor in Noel’s hands. In a room this bright, lies had nowhere to hide. And Daven knew-the long trip to the western harbor hadn’t been in vain.
The truth was finally surfacing, straight from the source.
The doctor swallowed. “I was… ordered to change the results. And anyone from the Miller family requested a retest, I was instructed to issue the same falsified report.”
“Who asked you to do it?” Daven demanded, his voice cold.
“Harold,” the doctor answered quickly. “He said it was just a formality. That no one would be harmed.”
“And you believed him?” Cale pressed.
The doctor lowered his head. “I was paid and… threatened.”
Daven restrained his anger. “Do you have any idea how much damage we’ve suffered because of those test results?!”
Noel bowed his head even further. And at that very moment, the door opened again. Chris stepped inside, his expression grave. His sudden appearance startled both Daven and Cale.
“What happened?” Daven asked sharply.
“I was ordered to return to SunCity. If I don’t…” Chris paused. “The Jiangshe branch is facing even more threats.”
Daven frowned deeply. “What do you mean?”
“The Jiangshe project has been shut down. Completely. No exceptions.”
