HIS REGRET (Ex-Husband wants Me Back) novel Chapter 712

Chapter 712

Lydia rose slowly from her seat. Her steps were calm as she approached Naomi, who still stood frozen near the kitchen Shards of the broken cup lay scattered across the floor, and the spilled milk had formed thin streaks that hadn’t yet been cleaned. Naomi didn’t move. Her eyes remained fixed, her face drained of color.

“Naomi,” Lydia called gently.

The girl blinked slowly, as if only just returning to herself. Her gaze shifted to Lydia, then to Cale, who stood not far away.

“Is… is that true?” Her voice was faint, barely audible. “That person… Don Falcon?”

No one answered immediately. Lydia was about to speak, but Cale spoke first.

“Yes.”

A single word, and it was enough to explain everything.

It made sense now, in Naomi’s mind, why someone would pursue them with such relentless determination. Someone who wouldn’t hesitate, even if it meant putting others in danger. There was only one person capable of that.

Don Falcon.

Of course.

Only him.

Naomi’s breath caught. Her shoulders lifted slightly, as if her body had forgotten how to breathe properly. She took a step back, then another, until her back nearly pressed against the wall.

“No,” she murmured, shaking her head. “He shouldn’t have gone this far.”

Lydia moved closer at once, reaching for her hand. “Naomi, listen to me–”

But Naomi pulled away quickly. “This is my fault,” she said, her voice clearer now. “This was always going to happen, sooner or later.”

Cale watched without moving, his gaze fixed on Naomi. Calm, but no longer simply calm. Behind that stillness, he was weighing possibilities, calculating every move she might make.

“What do you mean?” Lydia asked softly.

Naomi looked at her, fear laid bare in her eyes. She didn’t even try to hide it. Her hands trembled as she spoke. “I should’ve

ended this from the start.”

“What are you planning to do?” Cale’s voice was low, steady, but unmistakably firm.

Naomi turned to him. “I’m going to meet him.”

Lydia froze. “What?”

“I’m going to meet Falcon,” Naomi repeated, more resolute this time, even though her voice still shook. “If I go on my own, he won’t touch you. You’ll be safe. He only wants me. I know that.”

“That makes no sense,” Cale cut in immediately.

Naomi frowned at him. “How does that not make sense, Mr. Cale? Do you know what we just went through? No. I’m the one he’s after. Mrs. Lydia shouldn’t have had to experience something like that.”

“Calm down, Naomi,” Lydia urged gently. “We can figure out how to handle this”

“There’s nothing to figure out,” Naomi interrupted. “This is my problem. You shouldn’t be involved.”

“And you think handing yourself over is a solution?” Cale’s tone sharpened. “You think he’ll stop after that?”

“At least you won’t get dragged into this any further,” Naomi shot back.

“Naomi,” Lydia tried again, her voice softer now but carrying weight. “There has to be another way.”

“There isn’t.” Naomi shook her head. “You don’t know what he’s like.”

Cale stepped closer. “And you think you do?”

Silence fell after that.

Naomi’s hands clenched together tightly. Her gaze lost focus, haunted by the image of that man, growing more vivid with every second. How could Don Falcon be here, in Hong Kong?

“I have to go,” she said quietly. It sounded more like a whisper to herself, something said without fully thinking it through.

Cale let out a slow breath, his jaw tightening. “I’m not letting you go.”

“I don’t need your permission,” Naomi replied quickly.

Lydia looked between them, feeling the tension tighten, pressing heavier with each passing second. “Naomi, listen to us first. Cale knows what’s best for you.”
