Chapter 720
“You’re earlier than I expected,” he said flatly.
Falcon took the seat across from him without waiting to be invited. “I don’t like wasting time.”
A faint smile touched Zhao Hua’s lips. “And I don’t like being approached without a clear reason.”
Falcon ignored the remark. He pulled a tablet from inside his jacket and placed it on the table. The screen lit up, displaying a single photograph in sharp clarity.
Naomi.
Zhao Hua didn’t look at it right away. He took a slow sip of his tea first, as if deliberately stretching the moment. Only then did his eyes flick toward the screen.
Just a glance. No real interest. He returned his gaze to the cup, swirling the liquid gently before finishing it in one smooth motion. “Pretty,” he commented lightly.
Falcon didn’t react. “That’s not why I’m here.”
Zhao Hua lifted a brow and looked at the photo again, this time longer. At first, it was only a cursory glance, the kind one gives to confirm a client’s target. But the longer he studied it, the more something shifted. And the way this foreign man seemed to be laying out clues so deliberately made his heartbeat hitch, just for a fraction of a second.
His expression changed. Very briefly, but enough for someone like Falcon to notice.
“Interesting,” Zhao murmured under his breath.
Falcon watched without interrupting.
“Where did you get this?” Zhao Hua asked.
“That’s none of your concern.”
A faint smile curved Zhao Hua’s lips. “Anything involving a face with a tattoo like that, especially in circles like ours, is always my concern.”
Falcon leaned back slightly, his gaze never wavering. “I only need to know one thing.”
“What is it?”
“How much would it cost to kill her?”
Zhao studied him, his eyes thoughtful, measuring. He said nothing at first. Slowly, he set his cup down and leaned back in his chair. “That’s an interesting question,” he said at last.
“Just answer it. I don’t like wasting time. And from what I hear, neither do you.”
Zhao Hua met his gaze directly. “Very expensive.”
Falcon didn’t look surprised. “Name your price.”
Zhao shook his head lightly. “This isn’t about money.”
Falcon’s eyes narrowed. “Don’t play games.”
This time, Zhao’s smile was clearer, more deliberate. “You don’t even know who you’re targeting, yet you’re already trying to erase her.”
“I know enough about who she is.”
“No,” Zhao Hua cut in calmly. “You don’t know anything.”

The air between them shifted. Zhao was no longer looking at Falcon with casual indifference. There was weight in his gaze now, a quiet intimidation that pressed down on the space between them. It felt as though one wrong move, one misplaced word, could unravel everything in an instant.
Falcon didn’t flinch. He was used to pressure like this.
Zhao Hua continued, his tone still light, but each word carried more weight than before. “That girl isn’t just a target.”
Falcon remained silent.
“She’s someone being sought by more than one clan in Hong Kong,” Zhao went on. “Not to be killed.”
Falcon tilted his head slightly. “Then?”
“To be claimed.”
