Chapter 731
The pool water still left a lingering chill on Naomi’s skin as she stepped into the gazebo standing in the middle of the mansion’s back garden. Her long, damp hair hung loose down her back, while a white towel rested carelessly over her shoulders. Evening was slowly descending over the Hong Kong sky. Golden sunlight filtered through the leaves above, falling softly across the surface of the pool that still rippled gently from her earlier swim.
It had been a very long time since Naomi had swum for that long.
Maybe years.
And strangely enough, this was the first time in days that her body felt even slightly lighter after being buried beneath constant tension.
On the small table inside the gazebo, the servants had prepared snacks and warm tea. Naomi picked up a slice of fruit without truly intending to eat it. Her mind was too busy replaying the long conversation she had with Park Jin a few hours ago.
About the Chen family.
About her parents.
Including the fact that she apparently had two older brothers and three older sisters.
The memories she had of her family were so faint that Naomi could barely remember what any of them looked like anymore. Even when Park Jin showed her old photo albums and pointed one by one at the people who were supposedly her family, only vague fragments surfaced in her mind.
Just fragments.
“Ah… I really can’t remember,” Naomi murmured quietly. Without realizing it, her fingers brushed over a photograph taken in a wide courtyard. In the picture, a little girl with jet-black hair and large clear eyes was being carried by the man she once called Father.
Standing beside him was the man who had taken her away from that place.
Uncle Yuyang.
“The clearest memory I have is still Uncle Yuyang.” Naomi stared at the photo with a wistful expression. “I think if he were still alive, he’d probably look a lot like Father. Right, Mr. Park?”
“You’re right.” Park Jin smiled faintly. “Master Yuyang loved you the most. He used to say that Young Master He often made Miss Naomi cry.”
Park Jin had told her so many stories about her past.
About the childhood she once lived in this city.
And about the man she had always known as Cale Miller.
Naomi slowly leaned back against the wooden bench inside the gazebo. The evening breeze brushed softly against her damp hair, moving the strands gently across her shoulders. But none of it could calm the storm inside her
mind.
“Everything managed by Chen Kailun, or the man you know as Mr. Cale Miller, belongs to the Chen family.”
Park Jin’s voice echoed clearly in her head again.

The Chen family was not just some ordinary wealthy family.
They controlled far too much in Hong Kong.
Luxury restaurants. Networks of nightclubs. Casinos. Alcohol distribution. Even underground businesses Naomi had always believed only existed in crime movies.
Everything operated under the Chen family name.
And all of it had grown even larger after being taken over by the man Naomi liked to call “That Annoying Man.”
Naomi closed her eyes for a moment.
“He’s not part of the main family line,” Park Jin had said calmly earlier. “But Chief Chen trusted him more than anyone else.”
Naomi still remembered clearly how the old butler’s expression had changed whenever he spoke about Cale. There was a depth of respect there that felt almost overwhelming.
Perhaps even… admiration too profound to put into words.
“Why?” Naomi had asked at the time. “Why would my father choose an outsider?”
Park Jin had smiled faintly at the question.
“Because Young Master Kailun was the only person who never wanted the Chen family’s power for himself.”
Naomi had fallen silent for quite a while after hearing that answer.
How ironic.
The one person who wasn’t hungry for power had been entrusted with the greatest authority instead. Meanwhile, the family itself had begun tearing itself apart with suspicion and ambition.
