Falcon grabbed the collar of a nearby chair so hard it nearly snapped beneath his grip. “Don’t test me.”

Zhao Hua’s gaze slowly turned colder. “Your threats mean nothing to me.”

Silence filled the warehouse once more. Outside, the rain battered against the metal roof harder than before, the noise echoing heavily through the building.

Falcon took another few steps forward. His large frame now stood directly in front of Zhao Hua, radiating intimidation. “I could kill you right now.”

One of Zhao Hua’s bodyguards immediately moved forward, but Zhao calmly raised a hand to stop him. Then he looked back at Falcon without the slightest trace of fear.

“And after that?”

Falcon fell silent.

Zhao Hua continued in a low, unhurried voice. “Without my help, you wouldn’t even be able to get near Naomi Chen.”

Falcon’s eyes sharpened instantly.

“I’m the one who opened access to information for you. I’m the one who told you when the Chen family would be gathered together. I’m also the one who diverted their attention tonight.” Zhao Hua leaned casually against the wooden table, completely at ease. “And yet the result remained the same. You failed.”

The veins along Falcon’s neck visibly tightened. It was obvious the man despised being looked down on like this. But Zhao Hua was far too cunning to be provoked so easily.

“What exactly do you want?” Falcon finally asked, his voice low and heavy.

For the first time that night, Zhao Hua smiled faintly.

“Naomi.”

Falcon immediately narrowed his eyes.

“You want that girl, don’t you?” Zhao Hua continued casually. “Then focus on your objective.”

“And what about you?”

Zhao Hua’s gaze slowly darkened. “I want TnC Group. Like I told you before. Don’t tell me you’ve forgotten already.”

That statement silenced several people in the room instantly.

Falcon stared at the older man in front of him for a long moment, as if trying to determine whether Zhao Hua was joking.

But there wasn’t the slightest hint of amusement on the man’s face.

“So that’s been your goal from the very beginning,” Falcon muttered.

“Isn’t it mutually beneficial?” Zhao Hua picked up the cup of warm tea one of his men had prepared earlier and took a slow sip. You get Naomi. I get Chen Kailun’s company. His private company.”

Falcon let out a humorless chuckle. “And you think I’m just supposed to trust you?”

“I don’t care whether you trust me or not.” Zhao Hua calmly set the teacup back down. “But you should know your place if you still intend to work with me.”

Falcon’s expression darkened even further, something ugly flickering in his eyes. Yet Zhao Hua still wasn’t finished.

Falcon slammed his fist against the table hard enough to send the teacup crashing to the floor. Shattered porcelain scattered across the warehouse. Several of his men immediately tensed, but Zhao Hua remained seated calmly, as though that outburst of anger wasn’t even worth his attention.

“Stop acting like some wild animal that only knows how to destroy everything,” Zhao Hua said coldly. “If you want to bring down the Chen family, use your brain.”

Falcon glared at him furiously while Zhao Hua slowly rose to his feet again, reaching for his wooden cane.
