HIS REGRET (Ex-Husband wants Me Back) novel Chapter 977

His gaze shifted from Brandon to the black urn still resting in the center of the table. "I don't believe it."

The middle-aged man's voice was quiet, almost a whisper.

"Where's Falcon?"

The same question was spoken once more. This time without shouting, without anger. Just a father still hoping his eldest son would walk through the door and say that all of this was nothing more than a cruel joke.

Brandon didn't answer immediately. He picked up the black urn with both hands, then slowly removed its lid.

Click.

The soft sound rang out with startling clarity.

A small amount of gray ash filled the inside of the urn. Brandon didn't lift it. Nor did he hold it closer for anyone to see. He simply allowed everyone to look at its contents from where they were.

"This is my final answer."

Lady Falcony stared at the urn without blinking. Her body weakened so much that she was forced to lean against the chair beside her. She shook her head again and again, as though trying to deny what her own eyes were seeing.

Meanwhile, Don Falcony slowly lowered himself back into his chair.

His eyes were empty.

For decades, he had built the Falcony family with the conviction that no one would ever be able to lay a hand on them. Yet that day, he was forced to accept a reality that shattered that conviction completely.

Brandon calmly replaced the lid on the urn. "I didn't bring Falcon's ashes back to this house to insult the Falcony family."

He paused for a moment, making sure his father was still listening. "I brought them here as a warning."

His gaze locked onto Don Falcony.

"Never enter Carrington Bay without permission again, especially not to interfere with the Devereux family. Because if that happens, the Miller family won't stand by and do nothing."
