Chapter 251
Isabella’s POV
The barrel of the gun never wavered.
It remained trained squarely on my chest as Alessia smiled with a terrifying sort of calm.
“So,” she said softly, “goodbye, Isabella.”

My breathing caught, not because I was afraid for myself anymore but because Mateo was still sitting unconscious only a few feet away.
If she killed me, who would protect him? Who would make sure he woke up?
Who would-
A deafening crash split through the warehouse.
The enormous metal doors burst open so violently that they slammed against the concrete walls with a metallic roar.
Every light in the warehouse blazed to life at once.
For a fraction of a second, everyone froze.
The darkness vanished as the entire warehouse flooded with brilliant white light.
Heavy footsteps echoed across the concrete floor, one after another. Men dressed entirely in black poured
into the warehouse with practiced precision, quickly spreading out and securing every exit.
Within seconds, Alessia and the two men beside her were completely surrounded.
And then, he walked in.
Dominic.
His expression nearly stopped my heart.
I had seen him angry before.
I had seen him furious.
I had seen him dangerous.
I had never seen him like this.
There wasn’t rage on his face.
There wasn’t panic.

There was only an icy, terrifying resolve that somehow frightened me more than shouting ever could.
His gaze found mine immediately.
For the briefest second, I watched relief flicker across his face.
I was alive.
Then his attention shifted to the men standing beside Alessia.
“Drop your weapons.”
His voice was low, controlled.
Neither man moved.
The silence stretched for only a heartbeat.
Then Dominic’s men surged forward.
The struggle was swift.
Within moments, both of Alessia’s bodyguards had been disarmed, and shot with a bullet straight through the heart, their bodies dropping to the floor like heavy sacks of potatoes.
The gun slipped from Alessia’s hand and clattered loudly across the concrete floor.
She didn’t even seem to notice.
Her eyes were fixed entirely on Dominic.
“D–Dominic….”
She looked as though she’d seen a ghost.
He didn’t answer her.
He walked straight past her, straight to me.
The ropes around my wrists were gone almost as quickly as I’d registered he was beside me.
His hands trembled only slightly, but enough for me to notice.
He cupped my face gently. “Are you hurt?”
I shook my head. “No.”
“Did they touch you?”
“No.”

His shoulders visibly relaxed.

Then his eyes searched mine again, as though needing to convince himself I was really standing in front of
him.
For one brief second, neither of us spoke.
He simply pulled me into his arms. The embrace was tight, almost desperate.
I felt him exhale shakily against my hair.
“I thought….” His voice caught. “I thought I was going to lose you.”
“So did I,” I whispered.
He closed his eyes briefly before forcing himself to let me go.
“Mateo.” My heart lurched. I immediately rushed towards my son, dropping to my knees beside him. His breathing was steady, his pulse strong.
I gently brushed the hair away from his forehead.
“Come on, sweetheart,” I whispered. “Wake up, mama’s here.”
Dominic crouched beside us. “He’ll be alright.”
I looked up. “How do you know?”
“I already have a doctor on the way.”
Relief washed over me so suddenly my eyes burned.
Only then did Dominic stand.
When he turned towards Alessia, the entire atmosphere changed.
“You really believed,” he said quietly, “that you could bring Isabella to one of my own warehouses and do as you please….” His voice was frighteningly calm. “…. because while looking for her, I wouldn’t think to check my own properties and get away with all this?”
Alessia didn’t answer.
“You planned well. I’ll give you that. But you underestimated one thing.” His eyes briefly met mine. “That
necklace.”
Almost instinctively, my fingers found the silver pendant resting against my neck.
“I never told Isabella.” He looked back at Alessia. “But that locket contains a GPS tracker.”
Her face drained of what little colour remained.

Chapter 251
“It took my team less than five minutes to locate her.”
He took another slow step toward her.
:
“And once I realized where she was, I accessed the warehouse security system.”
Silence.
“I watched.”
Another step.
“I listened.”
His voice became almost unbearably quiet.
“I heard every word.”
The realization visibly shattered something inside Alessia. “No…”

“I heard you admit to causing that explosion years ago which could’ve killed Isa. I heard you admit to feeding information to my enemies. I heard you confess to faking your pregnancy. I heard you admit to orchestrating everything that led to the loss of my child.”
Each sentence landed like another stone.
“And I heard you threaten to murder the people I love.”
Tears spilled down Alessia’s face. “It wasn’t supposed to—”
“No.” He cut her off.
“For years…” His voice cracked for the first time. “…Isabella tried to warn me.”
He looked at me briefly before turning to her again. “I thought she was mistaken. I thought fear was making her suspicious.”
His eyes closed for a moment. “I should have trusted my wife.”
The words stole my breath.
“I kept seeing what I wanted to see. A loyal ally. A trusted friend. A woman who wanted what was best for me.”
He laughed bitterly.
“In reality, you wanted what was best only for yourself.”
Alessia shook her head desperately. “I love you.”
“No. You don’t. You wanted to own me. There’s a difference.”
