“Talk about bad luck,” Nina Torres whispered, her lips barely moving as she spoke through gritted teeth. “I can’t go anywhere without running into him.”

Mia’s eyes flickered, but she forced herself to look composed. “Mr. Hale, what a coincidence. Seeing Dr. Preston again?”

The tension tightening in Mia’s body began to ease slightly.
