Cole Preston held two transparent vials in his hands. He looked down, fiddling with them, appearing perfectly composed. “Do you want it to be his, or not?”

Chloe Bennett was frantic with anxiety. “Why are you talking so much nonsense? Does it matter what I want?”

Cole calmly set the vials down and peeled off his gloves. “Here are the paternity test results. See for yourself.”

He pulled a report from a drawer and handed it over.

“Tell Mia that there’s a problem with the baby. Tell her it can’t be kept.” Chloe tossed the paternity test onto the desk and grabbed her bag to leave.

turned cold. “I’m a doctor, not a butcher. That is a life-an innocent life.”

Chloe stopped at the door. She turned back to look at Cole, and after a few seconds of staring, she burst into laughter. “Cole, do you really think you have a choice here?”

Cole’s eyes turned predatory. “Chloe, you’re pathetic for needing schemes to keep a man. If you want to push me, go ahead. We’ll go down together. I don’t care about my reputation, but you can say goodbye to Ethan. I won’t commit murder for you.”

Now, Chloe wasn’t the only one with leverage. Cole had plenty on her as well.

‘Cole, you dare threaten me!?” Chloe’s face flushed with rage.

He spoke slowly and clearly, making sure Chloe heard every word. Once he released the button, the message was
