Nina Torres couldn’t remember how many times she had asked this question. But Mia Carter’s answer was always

the same.

Nina sighed. “I feel like you trying to leave is like a pilgrimage to the West. You have to go through eighty-one trials, and even at the very end, you still get screwed over by some old turtle. ‘And you agreed?”

Nina shook her head. “I told him I’m busy lately. He said he’d wait until I’m free.”

‘Cole is double-boarded in medicine,” Ethan reminded her coldly. “And even if your mother does have issues, she’ll last long enough to make it to our wedding day.”
