Mia Carter glanced around, confirming there was no one else nearby.

She pointed at herself, looking at Patrick Gallagher with total confusion.

Was he calling her “Mom”?

Sir, you’ve got the wrong person!” a servant whispered, hurrying to Patrick’s side.

Mia checked her phone. There was still no word from Ethan Hale.

She decided to find a quiet corner to wait.

But as she turned, she spotted a familiar figure in the crowd.

Ethan was dressed in a sharp black suit, his handsome, refined features radiating a subtle, cold elegance. He was tanding half a step behind Chloe Bennett, who was leaning into him as if she were cradled in his arms.

Opposite them stood Serena Woods, her pregnancy obvious beneath her dress. Serena had one hand on her hip and the other resting on her belly, looking as if she were sharing motherhood advice.

To anyone else, they looked like a happy couple-to-be, perhaps feeling shy yet joyful about the prospect of their own future children.

Yet, for some reason, Chloe’s expression seemed stiff.

Ethan’s usual stoic face held a flicker of an unreadable emotion as he looked down at Chloe.

She didn’t know why Patrick hadn’t questioned her identity and simply escorted her inside either.
