Mia Carter wanted to buy everything she needed before she hit her third trimester.

She set aside a day to go to the mall. Nina Torres was supposed to go with her, but right before they left, Toby started fussing and accidentally bumped his head.

Mia told her not to come. To her surprise, Nina agreed unusually quickly.

It wasn’t until Mia walked out of the house and saw Jaxon Rivers’ car parked at the curb that she understood why Nina had been so agreeable.

Mia, where are you going? Get in, I’ll give you a lift!”

axon lowered the top of his convertible and leaned out, waving at her. “I’m your personal chauffeur for the day!”

Mia stopped in front of his flashy supercar. “You already know where I’m going, don’t you?”

It seemed Ethan had an intermittent grudge against Jaxon. He would sabotage Riverside’s projects and pick fights with the Rivers family, then quiet down for a while before starting up again. Those projects weren’t even that valuable; he was doing it purely out of spite.

‘Maybe he doesn’t like you following him around.”

Mia couldn’t think of any other reason. Ethan had come to Everett, and Jaxon had followed immediately after. To put it nicely, he was “following” him; to put it bluntly, he was stalking him.

‘I’m not here for him,” Jaxon argued. “I’m not gay. I’m not like Cole Preston, following him around like a lost puppy all day.”
