HIS STRIPPER, HIS WIFE novel Chapter 118

Chapter one hundred and eighteen

Adrian

“Arghhh. Not now,” I groaned, dropping my head back against my chair the second I saw who it was. Victoria stood in the doorway like she owned the place, wrapped in a long silk jacket that did nothing to hide what was clearly underneath it, her heels clicking against the floor as she stepped inside without waiting for an invitation.

“What are you doing here?” I asked, louder than I meant to. And even as the words left my mouth, I realized that wasn’t even the question I should have been asking first.

“How did you even know I was here?” I tried again, but she didn’t answer, didn’t even slow down. She just kept walking until she stopped right in front of my desk, close enough that I had to lean back slightly just to keep some distance between us.

“So you used your assistant as a decoy,” she said, tilting her head like she found the whole thing amusing. “Smart, very smart. You’re getting married to someone else, and here I am, already helping you look for stains on your poor assistant’s reputation.” She paused, letting that sit in the air for some seconds. “Well… She better be grateful.”

“You already know I’m getting married,” I said, rubbing my temple where the headache from the night before was starting to creep back. “So what are you doing here? Why are you here, Victoria?”

“I just came to remind you of everything you might be missing out on if you actually go through with marrying that woman,” she said.

“See, I really don’t have time for this…” I started, but before I could finish, she reached up and pulled the tie loose on her jacket, letting it slide off her shoulders and drop to the floor, exposing everything underneath it.

“You like what you see?” she asked, already taking slow steps toward me, her eyes locked on mine like she expected some kind of reaction.

If this had been months ago, before Bianca, I probably would have been lost in it without a second thought. But Bianca had raised the bar for me in every way and even beyond that, there was no part of me capable of responding to anything Victoria offered anymore, not after everything she had put me through the first time.

“Don’t move any closer,” I said, my voice sharp enough that she actually stopped mid step.

“You can pick up your dress, or whatever that thing is called, and leave my office,” I said. “I’m not interested, and I will never touch you again.”

Adrian lovee.”

“That should be the last time you ever call me that,” I cut in. “Pick up your things and leave, like I said.”

“I know you’re just trying to…” she started, moving closer again, reaching out like she planned to touch my chest, but I pulled my arm away fast enough that she stumbled and ended up on the floor.

“Sorry about that,” I said, not really sounding sorry at all, as she tried to push herself back up.

“I already said I’m sorry, Adrian. We should have moved past all of this by now, and…”

“You have three minutes to leave this office,I said, cutting her off completely.

“I am not…” she started, but I had already picked up my phone and dialed a number, It barely rang once before it connected.

“Felix, I need you in my office in the next four minutes,” I said, and hung up without waiting for a response, leaning back into my chair and letting the silence between us do the talking.

She looked at the door, then at me. Then back at the door again, like she was trying to figure out if I was actually serious.

“Is this really how you want to go about this?” she asked, but I didn’t bother answering. I just watched as she finally walked over to where her jacket had fallen, picked it up off the floor, and pulled it back over herself, standing there afterward like she was waiting for me to change my mind.

Less than a minute later, the door opened again, and this time it actually was Felix. I watched the shock cross his face the moment he saw her standing there, half dressed, in the middle of my office. Victoria didn’t wait around for anyone to say anything else, she grabbed her bag off the chair and walked straight past him toward the door.

Chapter 118 1

Bianca, I know you’ve seen it by now. I know how it looks, but I need you to let me explain before you decide anything.”

“That announcement wasn’t mine,” I said quickly, standing up like moving would somehow make my words. land better. “It was my father’s doing. He handled it directly with the board and the PR team without telling me a single thing. I found out the same way you did, through a headline. I swear to you.”

Silence was on her end long enough that I thought the call might have dropped, but I could still hear her breathing, slow and steady, like she was working hard to stay calm.
