I bent my head and watched her through the small gap in the duvet, careful not to make even the tiniest movement. She moved like she had been in this exact place a hundred times before, her fingers trailing along the wood like she was searching for something. Whatever fell from her hand landed with a soft thud on the rug, and the sound shook my whole body.
I felt Adrian shift beside me, his arm tightened around my waist and he moved closer instead of moving away, his face pressing into my hair like he was trying to get more comfortable rather than trying to wake up properly.
I couldn’t understand it, I mean… there is a stranger in his room, a woman walking around like she owned the place, and he was acting like it was the most normal thing in the world.
“He saw her too,” I thought, my mind racing. “So why isn’t he saying anything? Why isn’t he moving?”
I opened my eyes a little wider, just enough to watch him glance toward her corner of the room with an unbothered look before his eyes drifted shut again like nothing was wrong. I was very much confused.
“Sorry to wake you up, Adrian,” the woman finally said in a soft voice. “I tried not to, but I think you might have kept one of the Complex D files too far back. I found it now though.”
He didn’t answer her right away, instead he pulled me even closer, his lips finding my cheek, and he kissed me there softly before settling back into me like she wasn’t even in the room.
“What?” I thought, still not moving, still trying to make sense of what was happening. I felt his chest rise and fall calmly against my back, and it only confused me more.
“She’s my elder sister,” he finally said, his voice rough with sleep but clear enough for me to understand.
I don’t know why, but something in me loosened the moment he said it. My shoulders dropped a little, that explained the reason he wasn’t jumping up or panicking,
“That’s right, I’m his sister,” she said, and I could hear the smile in her voice now. “And sorry for disturbing your sleep, I didn’t know he had company.”
I heard her footsteps moving away, and then the soft click of the door closing behind her.
“Sorry about that,” Adrian murmured against my neck. “But can we actually have about two extra hours of sleep?”
“Okay,” I said, my own voice still thick with sleep, and I felt him smile against my skin before he pressed one more kiss to my neck. My mind wandered for a while after that, drifting between the shower the night before, the picture he took of us and now the first impression with the sister who apparently saw me on a bed with him. Somewhere in the middle of all that thinking, I slept off again.
The next time I opened my eyes, the room was brighter and I felt the bed dip beside me. Adrian was climbing back onto it, already dressed in grey pants and a white shirt, his hair still slightly damp like he had just showered again somewhere else in the house.

“Finally awake,” he said, smiling widely.
I sat up slowly, squinting against the light coming through the curtains, my body still heavy with sleep.
“Here,” he said, stretching a cup toward me and I took it without thinking twice and drank almost immediately, tipping it back before he could even finish his sentence.
“It’s a liquid supplement and…” he started, but I had already emptied the cup by the time he got the words out.
“You are not going to poison me,” I said, setting the cup down on the shelf beside the bed, more to myself than to him.
“You trust me that much and you wouldn’t agree for us to bathe together?” he said, tilting his head, that familiar smirk coming back onto his face.
“You had to go there again,” I said, almost laughing.
“Yes,” he said with no shame in his voice at all.
He moved closer, pulling me toward him gently, and the towel I still had wrapped around my body loosened at the movement, slipping just enough to expose my bare chest.
“Uhh…” I started, reaching for the towel out of instinct.
“Breakfast is served,” he said, already bending down, his mouth finding mine before I could get a single word of protest out.
He didn’t waste any time, his hand found my waist, pulling me up until I was standing, and the towel finally gave up entirely, falling to the floor between us. I was completely bare in front of him now, morning light spilling across the room with nowhere for me to hide.
“I could stare at your body all day,” he said, his eyes moving over me slowly.
I brought my hands up, trying to cover myself, more out of habit than actual shyness at this point, mostly just needing something to do with my hands so I wouldn’t have to think about what to say back to that.
“You make it hard for me to even concentrate,” he said, his voice dropping lower, and he pulled me against him.
It started as something soft, his arms wrapping around me, then I felt his hands slide down, settling on my backside, and my heart began to breathe faster. He stepped back just far enough to pull his shirt over his head, tossing it somewhere behind him without even looking, and my eyes betrayed me completely, tracing over every line of him the way he had just done to me.
“You said I had to stay for extra two hours,” I managed, my voice barely audible, trying to hold on to some shred of teasing even as my heart pounded loud enough for him to probably hear.
“I lied,” he said, no hesitation at all, reaching for me again.
His hands found my waist and he walked me backward until my legs hit the edge of the bed, the mattress dipping slightly beneath me as I sat. He didn’t sit beside me this time, he stood there for a moment, just

looking, like he was trying to memorize something, and the way he looked at me made my whole body feel too warm, too aware of itself.
“Sir… Adrian,” I corrected, not even sure what I meant to follow it with.
