"You can also try putting on some soft, rhythmic music right before bed. Just keep the volume low so it acts as background noise. It'll help divert your attention and make it much easier to drift off."
Franklin listened intently, a fond smile in his eyes. "This is exactly why I trust you. Every time you visit, you give this old man practical advice. Not like that ungrateful grandson of mine, who only knows how to raise my blood pressure!"
Just as he finished speaking, the loyal butler stepped forward respectfully. "Sir, Mr. Vanderbilt is here. He said he's here to discuss business with the young master."
"Oh? The Vanderbilt boy?" Franklin frowned, his tone dropping. "Where is that brat, anyway? He invited someone over for business, but he isn't even home yet?"
"I just spoke with the young master. He said he's on his way and will be arriving shortly."
Franklin let out a huff but ultimately relented. "Fine, show him in."
He glanced up at Virginia, a subtle gleam of amusement flashing in his eyes.
That brat had impeccable timing today. With Virginia here, this was the perfect opportunity to introduce them.
Virginia had mostly wrapped up her session. Seeing that he had a guest arriving, she began packing up her voice recorder, ready to give a few final instructions before taking her leave.
But just then, the butler returned. And trailing right behind him was none other than Archer Vanderbilt.
Archer cut a striking figure, his posture immaculate and his features as flawless as sculpted marble. Dressed in a sharp suit and carrying a sleek leather briefcase, he exuded a commanding, strictly-business aura that Virginia rarely saw.
Archer's gaze seemed to flick toward her for a fraction of a second.
She mentally kicked herself for being so slow. Mr. Vanderbilt. How had she not immediately realized it was him?
"Mr. Hunter Sr., since Valentin isn't here, I won't intrude," Archer said smoothly, his voice cool.
"That ungrateful grandson of mine will be back any second. You might as well wait and finish your business discussion," Franklin replied, lightly tapping his cane against the hardwood floor.
Virginia sneaked a glance at Archer. He wore a tailored black suit over a crisp white shirt, a subtle beaded bracelet wrapped around his wrist, looking every bit the refined gentleman.
Noticing that Virginia had been staring at Archer a second too long, Franklin raised an eyebrow. "Virginia, do you two know each other?"
This Vanderbilt boy had always been infinitely more popular with women than his own grandson.
They answered in unison:
"...Valentin?"
Virginia froze.
Everything suddenly clicked into place.
She just never expected that the VIP patient she had been so diligently treating was Valentin Hunter's grandfather.
"You finally decided to show up, brat!" Franklin maneuvered his wheelchair, taking in the entire scene with a growing smirk.
Who would have thought his grandson already knew Virginia?
What did that mean? It meant it was destiny!
"Grandpa, we have guests. Could you at least pretend to respect me?" Valentin laughed helplessly.
"Ha! What guests? Virginia certainly isn't an outsider."
