His Wicked Obsession (Archer and Virginia) novel Chapter 215

"Doctor White’s final protégé, Ginny," he demanded, his voice thick with alcohol but his gaze razor-sharp and sober.

Chloe's condition was far more complex than it appeared on the surface. Before heading abroad, Doctor White had administered an intensive round of therapy, but the results had been painfully minimal.

If this elusive 'Ginny' truly was the master of treating delusional disorders as the rumors suggested, she might be the only one capable of finally curing Chloe.

Only when Chloe was fully healed could he safely, permanently terminate their sham marriage without devastating consequences.

But Doctor White and Kian Shaw kept their lips tightly sealed regarding her identity. All he could do was hire private investigators to track her down.

Julian blinked in surprise before nodding his agreement.

He was a high-powered corporate lawyer; tracking someone down wasn't entirely outside his wheelhouse.

...

Early evening at Virginia's apartment.

When the doorbell rang, Cindy had been sprawled on the rug drawing. She immediately bolted up, her fuzzy bunny slippers pattering across the floor as she rushed to open it.

"Valentin!!"

Valentin Hunter stood in the doorway, balancing a massive bouquet of champagne roses in his left arm, while his right hand held a bakery bag full of Cindy's favorite strawberry pastries and another bag bursting with stuffed animals.

Dressed down in a casual navy tee, his hair unstyled, he radiated a clean, boyish charm that was a stark contrast to his usual cunning, shark-like boardroom persona.

Cindy’s eyes lit up, and she eagerly reached out to grab his hand.

Valentin set the bags down and crouched to affectionately ruffle her soft hair. "Is your mommy home, sweetie?"

"Yep! Mommy's doing the dishes!"

Cindy answered brightly, then whipped her head toward the kitchen and hollered, "Mommy! Valentin is here! And he brought pretty flowers!"

Virginia emerged from the kitchen drying her hands on a towel. Seeing the ridiculously extravagant bouquet, she stopped dead in her tracks.

"What's all this?"

"Sorry for dropping by unannounced," Valentin said casually as he offered the flowers, though the look in his eyes was deadly earnest. "I walked past a florist today, thought they looked beautiful, and figured you might like them."
