His Wicked Obsession (Archer and Virginia) novel Chapter 312

The two young children were suspended nearly fifteen feet in the air, dangling precariously above a lethal spread of scattered rebar and broken concrete blocks.

Archer's dark eyes instantly turned lethal.

"Mr. Vanderbilt, you came alone? You've got guts," the lead kidnapper laughed loudly.

Archer's fists clenched, his jaw ticking with deadly tension.

"You took them for money. Name your price," he demanded, his voice rough. He tried to project calm, but the violent, murderous rage surging through his veins was nearly impossible to suppress.

"We don't want your money. Our employer wants us to play a game with you." The kidnapper waved his knife. "You can only take one of these brats with you. The other stays here to suffer a little!"

Archer's heart seized in his chest.

"Mr. Archer!" Cindy dangled in mid-air, her small face deathly pale as heavy tears streamed down her cheeks. "I'm scared... Mr. Archer, save me..."

That cry of "Mr. Archer" felt like a dull blade sawing at his chest.

He instinctively wanted to call out Cindy's name, but his gaze shifted to the other side. Toby was hanging there, utterly silent, not shedding a single tear.

Those eyes, which should have been full of innocent joy, were completely dull and lifeless.

The tiny four-year-old boy didn't look at Archer, nor did he look at anyone else. He simply stared blankly into the void, as if he had already accepted being abandoned by the entire world.

Archer's breath hitched.

Toby's psychological trauma was already at a breaking point. If he was abandoned now, his entire life would be irreparably destroyed.

And as for Cindy...

He would risk his own life to catch her. He would never let her suffer even a scratch!

Thinking of this, Archer closed his eyes and swallowed hard.
