Blossom Blythe sat by the bed, gently wiping Axel Rhodes's face.
She had finally quieted down.
Since last night, it was as if she had accepted reality, becoming exceptionally calm.
She stayed in the ward constantly, eating and sleeping right by Axel's side.
When she was tired, she would rest her head next to him.
When she was awake, she chatted with Axel, talking about interesting things happening around her, her past embarrassing moments, and her hopes for the future.
Occasionally, with flushed cheeks, she would express her deep feelings for him.
When she grew tired of talking, she would pause, sitting quietly by the bed, just staring at him.
Under normal circumstances, family members weren't allowed to visit the ICU.
But since Axel was in a private room and wouldn't disturb other patients, and Benjamin Lawson had coordinated with the hospital, the staff didn't stop her.

Folly Blythe and Hollis watched her through the glass, their hearts aching uncontrollably.
They were torn between heartache and worry. Compared to her current state, they almost preferred that she cry.
Elysia Thorne was also extremely worried. Taking advantage of the time she went in to change Axel's dressings, she asked Blossom.
"Blossom, are you okay? Folly and Hollis are outside, and they're really worried about you."
Blossom sat by the bed and glanced out the glass.
"I'm doing fine. I just feel a bit guilty for making my parents worry."
"Elysia, you and Winona are the best. If anything ever happens to me, you have to spend more time with my parents for me."
"Call them during the holidays, just to chat."
