Blossom couldn't believe her eyes. After staring at him for what felt like an eternity, she slapped her hands over her eyes, then yanked them away.

Axel stared at her silently.

Seeing that his eyes were still open, Blossom took a deep breath, fighting back her tears, and foolishly covered her eyes again.

"Axel, when did you wake up? Why didn't you say anything? I was right outside! Do you... do you hurt anywhere? I'll go get the doctor. Right, the doctor..."

Seeing that Axel was actually conscious, her eyes lit up with relief. She immediately began examining him.

"When did you wake up?" she asked as she checked his vitals.

Axel had actually been awake for a little while. The first thing he heard upon gaining consciousness was Blossom's voice.

He had heard her say,

"I know you both love me... But trying to force me away from Axel? That's not happening."

"...I love Axel, and I don't want to lose him..."

"...Dad, you have to help me with this. We're the only two people in this family with the same last name. If you don't have my back, who will?"

"You always call me your little princess. Well, your princess needs your help now. Are you in or out?"

"...You need to handle Mom. Make sure she happily accepts me and Axel being together..."

He had heard every single word of Blossom's heartfelt confession and her scheme to manipulate Folly.

Axel subconsciously glanced at Blossom, then lied through his teeth. "Just now."

Hearing his raspy voice, Blossom lost control again, her tears falling in a continuous stream.

Axel looked at her again, his brow furrowing, his expression unreadable.

Elysia said, "You're at the Sky City Hospital. You're completely safe now. How are you feeling? Are you in any pain? Talk to me."
