Near the airport, a brand new First Love Bakery had just opened, and there was already a massive line forming outside.
The entire interior wall was covered in the letter "E" written in countless different styles, making it incredibly eye-catching.
Elysia looked over curiously. "Is that a new location for the bakery in the city?"
Winona nodded, still linking arms with her.
"Yeah, it is. It's actually insane. They opened seven new locations this week alone, and I heard there are several more currently under construction."
Elysia was shocked. "That many?"
"Business is booming," Winona said. "Every single location is completely packed."
Elysia marveled at the sight.
"Their prices are so incredibly steep, yet they still pull in this kind of crowd!"
"As much as I despise the owner, I have to admit their pastries are phenomenal, and the guy running it is a marketing genius!" Winona admitted.
"With the holidays coming up, the Koryon people are acting crazy again, trying to claim the seasonal traditions as their own."
"They're completely relentless, dumping insane amounts of money into their own cultural campaigns to overshadow ours. Even their embassy has been putting out targeted messaging."
"Because of this, people online have been tearing into each other. Right now, there's a huge wave of anti-Koryon sentiment."
"But Jae-hyun Kim is from Koryon, and look at him. Not only has his business dodged any kind of boycott, but he's actually managed to expand."
"Even in this hostile climate, he's thriving, and his brand's reputation is absolutely untouchable."
"You have to give credit where credit is due—Jae-hyun Kim is brilliant."
Elysia nodded in agreement. It truly was impressive.
But just the thought of Jae-hyun made her frown involuntarily. Something about him rubbed her the wrong way.
Thinking about him just made her feel deeply uneasy.
Because it was getting late, the two friends said their goodbyes right there at the airport.
Keaton drove Winona back to the Newsom estate, while Tarquin and Elysia headed home to Number One Mansion.
The moment they walked through the door, the kids came sprinting toward them with boundless excitement.
"Daddy! Mommy!"
Seeing how thrilled the little ones were, Elysia practically leaped out of the car!
