Chapter 10
Inside the villa. Serena was in a good mood, trying on the new jewelry that had just been delivered.
When she heard the deafening crash of the door being kicked in downstairs and the servants screaming, she frowned in annoyance.
She’d barely reached the top of the stairs when Grayson stormed up like a raging lion.
His eyes were bloodshot. His face was dark enough to drip venom. The air around him was thick with murderous intent.
‘Grayson, what’s-”
Serena was startled by the look on his face. She forced a smile and tried to approach him.
Wham!”
Grayson grabbed her by the throat and slammed her against the cold wall. The impact was so violent her vision went black hands, gemstones scattering across the floor.
Talk! Did you set up the kidnapping?!” His voice was hoarse, low, dripping with the kind of danger that could destroy everything.
Did you tell those men to kill Elara?!”
erena was choking. Her face turned from red to purple. Her feet kicked uselessly in the air.
‘error seized her. She’d never seen Grayson like this.
I… I don’t know what you’re talking about…” she gasped, tears streaming down her face. “It was Elara–she hated me, she-”
Shut up!” Grayson tightened his grip, watching her face twist in agony from lack of oxygen. There wasn’t a shred of pity in his eyes.
nly cold disgust. And the intent to kill.
The kidnappers confessed. Everything. Serena, you’ve got some nerve! You dared to scheme against me?! You tried to have her killed?!”
[earing that the kidnappers had confessed, Serena’s psychological defenses shattered completely.
he knew. There was no hiding it now.
So what if I did?!” She snapped, voice shrill, with the kind of reckless madness of someone who had nothing left to lose.
fell from her
Why should Elara Carter get to keep the title of Mrs. Morgan?! Why did her old hag of a mother get to look down on me and my mom? You all wranged us; I vanted her dead! I wanted her to join her mother in hell!”
You chose to save me first! Grayson! You were the one who didn’t want her! So what are you pretending to care for now?! You think if she were alive shed orgive you?! She won’t! She hates you! She hated you until the very end!”
fer words were like poisoned daggers, stabbing straight into the most painful part of Grayson’s heart
de flung his arm and threw her to the ground like trash.
Serena clutched her throat, coughing violently, gasping for air. Her face was a mess of tears, fear, and hatred
Grayson looked down at her, eyes cold as steel. Every word was a sentence from hell
‘Serena, listen carefully Everything you took from the Carter family–from me–Ill make you give it back. Tenfold ”
“You and your mother wanted so badly to walk through the Carter family gates with your heads held high? I’ll make sure you’re both disgraced. You’ll be

Chapter 10
“However long you enjoyed being Mrs. Morgan, that’s how long you’ll rot in prison.”
Every bit of pain you inflicted on Elara, 111 make you… pay back a hundred times over.”
His voice wasn’t loud. But it was absolute, Cold. Final.
Serena sat slumped on the floor, staring at the undisguised hatred in his eyes. Finally, she felt real fear.
She realized–the man who used to indulge her, who gave her endless affection–was gone. In his place was someone who’d returned from hell. Someone who lived only for revenge,
Grayson didn’t spare her another glance. He turned and walked out.
Behind him, Serena’s hysterical sobs and curses echoed through the villa. He didn’t hear them.
He had only one thought now:
Eliminate everyone who’d ever hurt Elara Carter. And then… no matter the cost, beg for a forgiveness.
Days passed peacefully like this.
Noah would visit occasionally, bringing fresh flowers or pastries, catching up with me.
Jntil that man showed up and shattered the quiet.
The way he looked at me–his eyes were drowning in sorrow. His voice was hoarse as he apologized. Said he was sorry.
stared at him, confused.
Why was this stranger in so much pain?
Noah arrived just in time and shoved him back.
Grayson, she doesn’t remember you anymore. Stay away from her!”
After that, he started showing up near the flower shop all the time. Sometimes he’d stand across the street, just watching. Sometimes he’d follow me for a Nack
or two.
He’d talk about the past. About our ten years together. His voice was full of suppressed anguish.
But none of it meant anything to me. I felt nothing.
Finally, when he stopped me again, I spoke calmly,
‘Sir, you’re really disrupting my life. Please stop showing up around me.”
Whatever he was about to say got stuck in his throat. The light in his eyes went out completely.
Later, I saw him again on the TV news. Morgan Group was involved in serious legal violations. He was arrested
Word came from the prison. He wanted to see me one last time.
I shook my head.
To me now, he was just a stranger.
Then one ordinary morning, the news reported that he’d committed suicide in prison
I turned off the TV. Went back to trimming the lilies, changing their water–same as always.
