I Stopped Loving Him When He Let Me Bleed Out novel Chapter 26

At that moment, all she saw was her patient.

"Hey! Who do you think you are? Don't move him!" a middle-aged woman shrieked from the crowd. "Wait for the paramedics! You're going to hurt him!"

"Yeah, he's not even your kid! Are you going to take responsibility if he dies?" another bystander chimed in.

"I'm his father. If anything happens, I take full responsibility."

Finn's voice sliced through the chaos.

"She is the Emergency Department Lead at St. Jude's Medical Center. She is highly experienced. Everyone step back and be quiet."

He knelt opposite Sienna.

He looked pale, but his voice was ironclad.

Sienna supported York's chest with one hand, stabilizing his jaw, and flipped him face-down over her forearm.

She delivered firm, sharp back blows between his shoulder blades with the heel of her hand.

One.

Two.

Three.

York was unresponsive, his lips turning a deeper, terrifying shade of violet.

Sienna's face showed zero panic.

Only the absolute, razor-sharp focus of a medical professional.

Chloe was slumped on the floor, shaking uncontrollably, tears streaming down her face in rivers.

"York... York, baby, please don't scare Mommy..."

She reached out, desperately clawing at Sienna's sleeve.

"Dr. Sterling... please... please save him..."

The smug, fake-smiling woman from two minutes ago had vanished.

Now, the person sobbing on the carpet was just a mother utterly destroyed by terror.

Sienna didn't even blink:

"Get her out of my way."

She didn't aim the command at anyone in particular.

But before the words fully left her mouth, a large hand clamped onto Chloe and dragged her back.

It was Finn.

He watched Sienna with cool, unwavering trust.

Amidst a crowd of screaming, doubting strangers, he chose her without hesitation.

Sienna flipped York onto his back, resting him on her thigh.

She placed two fingers on the lower half of his breastbone and delivered rapid chest thrusts.

One.

Two.

Three.

"Cough..."

York let out a sudden, ragged gasp.

A piece of hard candy shot out of his mouth, bouncing twice on the carpeted floor.
