She gave two quick knocks before pushing the door open.

Director Huntington was still at her desk, specifically waiting for her.

"Sienna, I read the email you sent this afternoon. I deeply admire your nerve, but you've barely warmed your seat here. Digging your claws into a hornet's nest this massive... are you fully prepared for the blowback?"

Sienna settled into the chair across from her.

"I am."

Director Huntington studied her for two agonizing seconds.

But if you crush this case, everything changes. Win, and you cement your legacy at the Commission. Lose, and your career is paralyzed for the next decade." She paused, letting the weight settle. "Think carefully before you leap."

Sienna didn't hesitate for a fraction of a second.

"I'm taking the case."

Director Huntington lifted her teacup, taking a slow, calculated sip.

"You cannot crack this alone. You need an insider feeding you leads, or they will close ranks and freeze you out."

"I already have one," Sienna confirmed smoothly. "You don't need to worry."

Director Huntington's brow arched slightly in surprise.

"You're even more thoroughly prepared than I anticipated." She didn't press for details, simply giving a firm nod. "Alright then. The leash is off. Get to work."

"Thank you, Director."

When Sienna finally stepped out of the Health Commission building, the sky had completely blackened.

The streetlamps flickered to life, their amber glow carving out the sleek, aggressive silhouette of a Bentley parked right at the curb.
