I Walked Away And He Lost His Mind (Zephyra and Steven) novel Chapter 340

He was too close. I tried to move, but his strong arm suddenly shot out and braced against the wall beside me, blocking my path.

I tried to move to the left, but he blocked me again, so close I could almost feel the heat radiating from his body.

I was practically in his arms, the situation unbearably intimate.

Annoyed, I glared at him, pushing against his chest with all my might.

“You can talk, but I never agreed to wait for you. Can’t I close the elevator door? Do you own this elevator?”

Steven glanced at the logo on the elevator wall. “Aether Studio. Yes, the Lancaster family did install it.”

So what if you’re rich? I had tens of millions now. I was rich too!

It was just the two of us in this confined space. A smart woman doesn’t fight a man physically. I pressed myself against the wall and looked up at him.

“If you want to talk, then talk from a distance. This elevator is big enough for you to stand somewhere else…”

Before I could finish, he suddenly lowered his head, closing the distance in an instant. My heart rate shot through the roof.

I felt a pang of regret.

I shouldn’t have provoked him earlier. He was so competitive. He hadn't won over Verna yet, and here I was with a young hottie. Of course he would be annoyed, especially since I had also disciplined his mother in front of him.

Steven’s dark eyes stared straight into mine. “You said earlier that one should play the field. What, you want to date every man out there, hmm?”

I glanced at the floor indicator; we were already at the 6th floor. I looked back at him. It was impossible to read his handsome face, but I could definitely sense his displeasure.

If he was unhappy, then I was happy. A smile played on my lips. “There are thousands of handsome men in the world. What’s wrong with wanting to try them all? You can’t just give up the whole forest for one tr—mmph.”

Before I could finish, his lips crashed down on mine.

The distance was already so small. In less than a second, his cool lips were on mine, taking advantage of my open mouth to invade my defenses. My pupils constricted in shock. I was completely stunned.

Steven!

Why did he suddenly kiss me in the middle of a conversation?!

There was dead silence both inside and outside the elevator. No one moved or said a word.

I was breathing heavily. As the doors slowly closed, I cursed, “Steven, you son of a—mmph!”

After retracting his hand, he immediately cupped my chin and kissed me again, deeper and more intimately this time, as if savoring a delicacy, trying to coax a response from me.

I pounded on his chest with my fists, but he paid no attention, letting me struggle. In fact, the more I resisted, the more excited he seemed to become, his kisses growing hotter.

We reached the 15th floor. The doors opened to another crowd of people, all of whom stared, dumbfounded. A collective gasp echoed around us.

Steven finally seemed to come to his senses. He looked at me with deep, steady eyes and released his hold. Flushing with rage, I slapped him across the face, kicked him hard, and then quickly covered my face and ran out of the elevator.

Instead of getting angry, he laughed. A gentle expression appeared on his handsome, refined face as he followed me, a slight smile on his lips.

He grabbed my arm, his voice low and seductive.

“Zephyra, handling just me is enough to keep your hands full. You can’t handle too many men—”
