I Walked Away And He Lost His Mind (Zephyra and Steven) novel Chapter 410

Someone in the crowd grumbled, "So what if he's not selling? Big deal. It's just beginner's luck. The next stone he picks will probably lose him everything he just made on this one."

Oliver started bickering with the man, praising my skills.

The next moment, however, I chose a small stone, only about three or four pounds, priced at just three thousand.

The crowd burst into laughter. "Even a beginner knows not to pick a stone like that. It doesn't even have any moss on it. How could it possibly have any jade inside?"

Even Oliver looked a bit embarrassed. "Ms. Jones, even an amateur like me can tell that one's not good. Maybe you should look at something other than the three-thousand ones? You won't get anything special from those. You should look at the good ones, the ones that cost at least a million!"

I didn't say anything, just had Ryan take it to be cut. The crowd that had just been praising me was now looking on with amusement. Even Oliver couldn't help but sigh, and his assistant looked utterly dismayed.

Sure enough, the first cut revealed nothing. Ryan looked at me nervously.

"Make the second cut," I said.

This time, there was a flash of green inside.

The crowd's heart skipped a beat, and they exclaimed in surprise.

"We cut into jade — it really is jade! This girl's got a sharp eye! Who is she? So young... who was her teacher?"

Oliver immediately started clapping and laughing loudly. "I told you Ms. Jones was amazing! Quick, take a video of her! We have to celebrate this moment!"

The assistant did as he was told. Oliver beamed as he leaned closer to me. "Ms. Jones, that little stone's value just went up by at least a hundred thousand. You really shouldn't cut any further. It's easy to ruin it."

"It's fine, I'm using it myself," I said. Besides, it only cost three thousand. If it was a bust, I'd just try again. I looked at Ryan and nodded. "Cut again."

Another round of mockery came from the crowd. "Anyone who knows this business knows you stop when you're ahead, otherwise you'll lose everything you've gained."

"She's just a woman, after all. Too young. Only sees what's right in front of her, no thought for the future. Tsk, tsk, what a pity."

The next second, there was dead silence. The third cut also revealed jade, and along the edge was a patch of lavender!

"Holy crap!" Oliver was incredulous. "The whole thing is top-grade jade! Ms. Jones, your eye for this is just incredible!"

I smiled, satisfied. "It's decent."

The stone had looked promising. It appeared unremarkable, even having some small cracks, but I had once read a news report that said while most cracked stones are a total loss, if you cut into one and the crack doesn't run through, you can often find top-tier material inside.

This was great. I could get at least three bracelets and several pendants from this stone. I decided to pick out a couple more.

Then, he muttered to himself.

"It feels like ever since the Madam divorced Mr. Lancaster, she's been glowing. Could it be that Mr. Lancaster was bad luck for her? She's already beautiful, and now her talents are shining through. With so many nice guys pursuing her, how could she ever look back at Mr. Lancaster..."

The room suddenly fell silent. Gordon looked up and saw Steven staring at him coldly.

Gordon's heart clenched. He quickly plastered on a smile. "You’re a perfect match! Look, if she were to work with you, combining her talents with yours, Aether Studio would surely reach new heights!"

Steven glanced back at the video, his expression cold. "Call Mr. Brown Sr. Tell him to get his playboy son back home. And keep him there for a while. He's an eyesore."

"Yes, Mr. Lancaster," Gordon replied quickly. After making the call, he saw Steven was still silent, just taking another painkiller and going back to work.

He asked cautiously, "Mr. Lancaster, the Madam is at the auction, and it seems like a lot of people are bothering her. Aren't you going?"

Steven said flatly, "I don't have time. The deal with the foreign company needs to be finalized as soon as possible. After that, I'll take a break."

Gordon hummed. "That's true. Chasing after your wife takes time. It's better to focus on business now and make time for her later. As expected of Mr. Lancaster, a natural-born titan of the business world. Even winning back your wife has to wait for business to be done."

As soon as the words left his mouth, another dead silence fell over the room—
