I Walked Away And He Lost His Mind (Zephyra and Steven) novel Chapter 413

I just smiled. Seeing Mrs. Lancaster so confident and certain, I couldn't help but look forward to the day she found out I was the Lopez granddaughter. The slap to her face would be epic.

“I’ll be waiting.”

I walked away, and Oliver, who had been watching dumbfounded, quickly caught up. “Ms. Jones, does she not know who you are?” he asked, confused. “Why is she so hostile toward you?”

His face was a mask of bewilderment, probably wondering why she was so nasty when we used to be mother and daughter-in-law. It also seemed Mrs. Lancaster was unwilling to acknowledge my identity.

I saw Ryan approaching, having finished his task. “Mr. Brown, I don't think this concerns you,” I said calmly. “I’m heading home now. Please stop following me.”

Oliver wasn’t happy about that and kept pace with me. “Ms. Jones, what are your plans now? If you’re starting a business, you should let me in on it. I might not be good at making money, but I’m an expert at spending it! It's a no-loss deal to have me as a partner. I can invest in you!”

I couldn't help but laugh. Oliver was the most naive and simple-minded rich kid I had ever met.

I looked at him. “Alright. We’ll text about it later. I’m going into jewelry design, so if you want to invest, you should start doing your research.”

Oliver’s eyes lit up, and he chattered on, adding under his breath, “She might be my wife someday, so I better make a good impression...”

I didn't hear what he said. Ryan walked over, holding the raw jadeite, and grinned. “You’re incredible. A lot of people inside were asking who you were. They wanted to buy these stones, even offering millions for them. The value has skyrocketed! Should we keep looking?”

I shook my head. “No time. Let's go pick up Uncle Julian and head home.”

...

On the other end of the line, unseen by me, a handsome Horace, dressed in a hospital gown, lowered his phone and looked up at the middle-aged man standing before him.

“Speak.”

The man said, “Mr. Spencer, the Jones family is already in your pocket. What’s your next move? You can either force Martin to repay his debts, or we can acquire the Jones family’s company directly.”

“He dared to bully Zephyra. He deserves a proper send-off.” Horace narrowed his eyes, a faint smile playing on his refined face, but his tone was utterly merciless.

“But since Zephyra and I will be getting married soon, his death would be inauspicious. So just send him to prison. I don’t want him getting out and bothering Zephyra ever again—”
