I Walked Away And He Lost His Mind (Zephyra and Steven) novel Chapter 586

Julian nodded slightly, his dark eyes filled with reluctance.

“We’re both fine. Leonard called back, which put the old man at ease. But are you really going abroad to work? Horace... didn't you two have a falling out? I'm worried about you going abroad all alone.”

Initially, I told my family that Horace and I were getting married and we would build our careers abroad together. They had basically agreed to it.

Now that my relationship with Horace had “deteriorated” and I was going abroad alone, Uncle Julian was starting to worry.

He pressed his lips together. “You don’t have to work so hard. Why not just open a small company here and have some fun? If you want to learn, you can ask your mentor to guide you.”

I smiled. “Uncle Julian, studying abroad is my dream. I want to become a very successful designer, one who’s famous both at home and internationally. I’m not a child anymore; I can take care of myself.”

Chasing my dream was one thing, but making money was the real priority.

If Steven fell, he would certainly lose the power to go after my family, at least for a while. Besides, I had my brother. He was already out on bail. As long as he wasn't boxed in a prison cell, he would definitely be able to solve his own problems.

I had to use this window of opportunity to become stronger.

Julian wanted to persuade me, but he knew my personality. In the end, he just said, “Then go ahead and do what you want.”

Overjoyed, I hugged him. “Thank you, Uncle Julian.”

Julian patted my back and sighed.

“What about Steven? How do you plan to handle him? Will he let you go abroad to build your career?”

Not long ago, I was supposed to marry Horace, but Steven crashed the wedding and became my husband again. The family was still not over it.

I chose my words carefully, not revealing the whole truth. “He can’t stop me.”

That night, as I lay in bed about to sleep, my phone suddenly rang.

I thought it was Steven. I had run away, and the police were after him. No matter what, he would surely find a way to call and question me or something. But he hadn't.

Fearing Horace might come looking for me overnight and cause some sort of accident, I added, “I’m a bit tired today and want to rest. You should get some rest too.”

The screen repeatedly showed that he was typing, but in the end, Horace sent only one sentence, “Okay, goodnight.”

Ixia was often rainy, and today was another torrential downpour with thunder and lightning.

The weather in Baxo was clear, and I thought I would sleep well, but I tossed and turned all night.

Someone else who couldn’t sleep was Myron, far away in Ixia.

He drove his luxury car to the police station, holding an umbrella to pick someone up. When he saw Steven walk out with a blank expression, he was furious, holding the umbrella over Steven's head.

“I can't fucking believe this. You think this is a game? First the hospital, now the police station. Where to next? A relationship this dramatic... even if Zephyra is amazing, she's not worth all this trouble!”

Steven got into the car without a word, turned on his phone, and checked the location tracker. As expected, the tracking marker had vanished.
