I Walked Away And He Lost His Mind (Zephyra and Steven) novel Chapter 702

The mastermind?

My pale face tensed. “Who is it?”

Gordon suddenly fell silent, his brow furrowed as he studied me, his eyes filled with suspicion.

“Ma’am… why are you suddenly asking about the Chairman’s accident?”

When I had amnesia, I didn't understand the full story. Myron and Gordon both said I was responsible for what happened to Grandpa. I didn't know the details.

I didn't dare ask questions, afraid of making my guilt even worse.

But now, I remember everything. I need to know who took my phone back then, sent those messages, blocked Grandpa's number, and set him up.

“Is it a secret?” I released his arm, my gaze steady. “Mr. Lancaster blamed me for it. I was close to Grandpa. I just want an answer now. If you won't give it to me, I can find out myself.”

Gordon's eyes widened in shock. “You… have you regained your memory?”

“Yes.”

Gordon's expression changed drastically. He pressed his lips together, hesitating as if he wanted to say something but couldn't. I looked at him again. “Can you tell me now?”

I could see the conflict on his face. “That's a question you should ask Mr. Lancaster. I don't dare to answer.”

Why wouldn't he dare to say?

Who could the mastermind be, that even the sharp and capable Gordon would be so secretive about it?

I frowned, confused, but didn't press him further.

Steven is a successful businessman; he never makes a move he's not sure of. Unless the pregnancy became impossible to hide, he would have kept it from me.

He never allows for any mistakes in his plans.

Calculating the dates, I must have conceived during those days when Steven, furious after discovering my retaliation—selling his company's projects and partnering with the Brooks family—forced himself on me.

I looked at Gordon, my expression calm. “Please have the obstetrician come here. I have some questions for him.”

Gordon instantly panicked, his face so pale he looked like he was about to fall to his knees.

“Ma’am, you're not thinking of… ending the pregnancy, are you? I know you two don't get along—putting aside the time you had amnesia, you're like fire and ice. But honestly, Mr. Lancaster cares so much about you and this baby!”

“When you fell from the bridge, no matter how angry he was, he still came running to find you. He can't let you go. If you wake up and just get rid of the baby, you'll drive him mad. And you know what he's like when he loses it—you won't be able to handle the fallout—”
