I Walked Away And He Lost His Mind (Zephyra and Steven) novel Chapter 833

When I opened my eyes again, I was in a hospital bed with an IV drip attached to my arm.

Tess was sitting beside me, peeling an apple. The moment she saw I was awake, she put everything down, her face lighting up with relief.

“Ma’am, you’re finally awake!”

I tried to sit up, and Tess quickly helped me, placing a pillow behind my back for support. Only then did it hit me. “Is the baby okay?”

Tess shook her head immediately, reassuring me, “Don’t worry, the doctor said you fainted from extreme distress. The baby is fine.”

“But you really scared me back there. If anything had happened to you or the baby, I would’ve been done for.”

Tess said as she poured me a glass of water.

I took the glass and took a small sip. “Thank you. I’m glad you were there.”

Tess looked at me, hesitating for a moment. “Ma’am, you should be thanking Mr. Lancaster. I was so panicked I didn't know what to do. It was Mr. Lancaster who rushed out of the room, told me to call an ambulance, and carried you downstairs.”

My voice was frigid. “I don’t want to hear anything about him.”

Tess bit her lip but couldn’t help adding:

“It’s just… in all the time I’ve known Mr. Lancaster, I’ve never seen him look so worried. His eyes were red, and he looked like he was about to cry.”

I glanced at her. “You’ve only known him for a month. You don’t know him at all.”

“For example, if someone's monthly salary is fifty thousand, the company takes ten thousand. That's a hundred and twenty thousand a year. With a hundred nannies, the company makes over ten million.”

At the mention of “over ten million,” I sat up straight, too shocked to speak.

No wonder people say some are just natural-born businessmen. Steven was a genius at it. It was like any money he touched just multiplied.

I paused, a thought suddenly striking me. I murmured, “Starting my own agency might not be a bad idea.”

The baby's expenses would be significant after birth. A steady income would mean I wouldn't have to rush back into things.

Tess chuckled. “Ma’am, it’s not that simple. The clients come from the company. They trust Aether Studio. If you start on your own, you won’t have a client base.”
